New Batch of Torque rods

replaces the "soft" front transmission mount/shock with a rigid rod and bushings that flex much less than oem...thus, eliminating a lot of tranny movement on acceleration and cutting down on wheel hop.

Torque rods being shipped

Postby PDX SuperSolara » Mon Jul 16, 2007 2:05 pm

To all of you who sent payments for torque rods a while back, I finally got all the parts and will be sending those out early this week, so you can expect them in the mail soon. I told you it would take a while and I wasn't lying! There were a couple of late checks received, but those were too late, since I only order enough for those who paid in advance, so you will get your voided checks back. Sorry. You should have ponyed up sooner. But if I get a bunch more interest they may be available again in the future. Drive safe.

When i drive my solara and go over small bumps or uneven highway the car float like a boat. So insted of getting one bump i will get two smooth ones. I don't know if its due to the soft suspensions or something else. Would the torque rod improve this? by improve i mean reduce the "boat" effect

thanks

What kind of rims do you have on your car??
If you have aftermarket rims like 17's, then it's your struts and springs.
Even if you're rollin' on stock then it's still your struts and springs.
You just need new struts and springs.
All a torque rod would do is let the engine not rock back and forth that much.

Too many modifcations for the signature.

^^^

thanks, thats what i thought... i need new struts and springs.. I have stock rims.

So when you say it wont "let the engine not rock back and forth that much", sometime when i backshift to get a good acceleration i hear a litle "metal to metal sound" as soon as i press the acceleration pedal... is this what you are reffering to?
