Howdy everyone! I'm John.

I am buying a 2004 Toyota Solara Coupe SE with Iridescent White Pearl paint, the V6, leather, and nav, with an absolutely fabulous interior.

But I have a couple basic questions. Forgive me if this is the wrong area, I will search more later.

Did the 2004 model come with:

HID's
MP3 player
White paint but with Black interior

Also, some basic questions about the car:

Engine code
Car/Body Code (My prelude previously was a BB6)
How quick is it in the 1/4mile
Does it require premium fuel?

Where is a good site for finding OEM/Factory Accessories?

Thanks, and again, first post, so go easy on me :)

HID was not even an option on 2004 models, and neither was an MP3 player. I know for my 06 V6, premium is recommended, but not required.

Others will be able to answer your other questions.

Enjoy your time here! Where are you from?

Hey man, welcome to the site.

To answer your questions:

#1 No.

#2 No.

#3 Yes, the SE Sport comes with a black interior with carbon fiber trim and chrome accents... There is one catch to this, though... and that would be the fact that the leather interior and NAV were only available in the SLE models in 2004 (the SE Sport models had upgraded fabric seats)...

#4 3MZ-FE.

#5 Dunno.

#6 Low 15s (15.2 ish).

#7 Straight off the lot it is not required, but highly recommended (even in your manual) for best performance... The engine retards itself if you run lower ratings. But if the vehicle has had, or if you ever get the ECU re-flash to correct the throttle lag / gear hunting it IS actually REQUIRED (although there are people on here who do not abide by that)...

#8 Claremont Toyota, Vancouver (Washington) Toyota and Champion Toyota are the big three I use for factory (OEM) parts. There are others as well, but each of those have proven themselves the cheapest in certain categories time and again.

For future reference, make sure you search for these types of things before you ask (as mentioned above)... You will be able to find all you need to know, and then some in the Gen 2 forums.

Good luck,

-James

If your car has the OEM Toyota NAV in it, you have an SLE, not an SE. The SLE does not come with black interior- I really wish i had- i hate the stone interior that mine came with.

Enjoy the car.

Well, I've learned a lot since my Last post. But not everything.

I'm John. From Springboro, Ohio 45066.

The car I bought is a 2004 Toyta Solara SLE with the Pearl white paint, beige interior with a blackish dashboard. Auto, V6, Voice Navi, Rear deck lid spoiler (Love it).

Only thing left for me to do is lower it a little (only for looks, I drive very safely and in a conservative manner), and and some HID's.

I saw the lowbeams are projectors, and I wonder if I can modify them and add a cutoff shield, or if its easier to just swap the projectors. (I'll search, I'm just chattin here).

SO....anyways, hiya!

I absolutely love this car, and I don't even have it yet! (I take possession on Monday morning)

So I hope this is a friendly, helpful place for people who don't really mod the car in a performance manner! I do love my lighting though, (all tasteful, I swear :))

Enjoy your day/night.

Well John, we all have our days! Everyone is mostly friendly. There are a lot HID threads around, and a lot if guys with HIDs (Gen1 and2), so look around and ask the right people.

There are some stock members here, I'm one. So you won't be out of place with only light modding. :D

good. and thanks. I do a lot of interior lighting....for instance....adding small lights that light up the step area once the door is opened....so you know if you are near a puddle or whatever. I loved it on my prelude, and should probably also be amazing on this car.

hell I got interior lighting. I just do it cuz I love the look of it. yeah it is money and some say it's worthless to do something that doesn't add power. but then hell why do lotta ppl want lip and bodykits? just for style? yeah maybe so but I think interior lighting just gives it a lil more 'bam' ;)

welcome to the forums btw.

something I've searched for but still dont know the answer to:

The sotck OEM lip kit fits on the coupe, even if it is an SLE right? I keep seeing SE Sport exclusive, not sure 100% what that meant.

I would love to add the lip kit I keep seeing....makes it look much sportier.

Thanks again.

Yes, it will fit but you would have to cut slits to mount it. The problem is the kit costs a small fortune, and comes unpainted... From the factory it's a SE Sport exclusive, and I've never heard of dealers putting them on the coupes either (although the newer convertibles have the option for all trims).
