Looking for aftermarket parts in Toronto

Postby madrid2k » Tue Jul 03, 2007 7:51 pm

Hi:

Can any Toronto-area 'Lara owners recommend a good place to get aftermarket performance parts in and around the GTA?

I have a 99 SE - V6 manual, and am looking to install teins and tokicos.

I contacted Level 12 Speed & Sound in Scarborough, but want to know if there are any other good options out there.

I don't really want to go the Ebay route as the shipping charges mostly negate any cost savings.

Thanks in advance!

Hey - check out BC Auto Design in Markham. I used them a few years ago when I had my Civic. I'm sure they should have, or be able to get some Solara items. Good Luck!

Come on install the tein/tokico yourself. Its a real easy job if you willing to put in the time and its definitely worth the money you'll save. I got mine from ebay and that was the cheapest I could find anywhere.

I don't mind learning how to do the job myself, but I'm pretty sure you need some equipment to compress the springs - which I don't have.

Yeah, I know I can get good deals on Ebay, but once you factor in the shipping costs to Canada, you negate most of your savings.

I got a quote from a local shop - s-teins lowering springs and tokico shocks: all parts and installation for $900 taxes in. Sounds like a good deal?

I know I should be getting my wheels aligned after dropping the car, but I also heard that if you drop under 2", the alignment isn't necessary.

Does that sound accurate?

I have a 2000 Balck SE V6 5Spd. And also thinking of getting the same package (S.Tech & Tokico). I went to Pacific Mall and the guy told me $650.
I didn't really bargain yet just found out the price. Maybe if we go together we could get it down to 570-580....
Also the tool to compress the springs can be found in CanadianTire. They have a "free" rental, you get the tool by paying full price and then get your money back when you return it. I spoke to the Automotive department couple days ago and that is what they told me.

If you want to some more info or would like to get together and see what we can do about suspension email me at: iliya_19@yahoo.ca

BTW Welcome.... :D
