Hey everybody!

Just like to start off by thanking you all for the valuable information I've gotten from this forum while researching, buying and starting to tweak my Solara!

My name is Erik, I'm an 18 year old server/restaurant manager/student in Eustis, FL (Central FL, bout 30 mins North of Orlando) soon to be relocating to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville. Born and raised in various parts of Connecticut, I've also lived in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania and Miami, FL before ending up in Eustis.

I bought my '02 Gold Dust SE I-4 Automatic in March 2007 with 60K miles to replace my aging '95 Chrysler New Yorker (and it's crappy gas mileage.)

Quickly got into my first fender bender - I turned left into the left hand lane, he turned right into the right hand lane and kept right on going, shoving me into the suicide lane and nearly into oncoming traffic.

Finally got the car back from the shop at the beginning of May looking like she just rolled off the showroom floor and she's been a joy ever since!

My only mods so far have been window tint (30/20), my set of Gen-2 17's and a set of JDM Lexus Premium Horns (Being used to an full-size American luxury sedan's horn, I was a bit embarassed by the Solara's.) Oooh - Don't forget the vinyl/poly-something seat covers! I never knew I'd miss leather so much!

I've been thinking alot about getting a new set of rims (18"), lowering the car, getting a touchscreen headunit that'll incorporate navi, Bluetooth and an iPod jack/interface (ie. Pioneer AVIC-D3 or similar) and converting my low beams to HID, but none of these projects are cheap, and I'm trying to avoid big expenses until I know how much $$$ I'll be making in Gainesville.

Looking forward to learning more about my car and meeting some cool people! Sorry for the long post!

- Erik

Right after getting it home from the dealership and a quick wash:

06toyo chick - Yeah, restaurant manager @ 18 - I worked every position in that restaurant (Cept serving/bartending) before I got my set of keys in November of '06 @ age 17! (They couldn't find a manager more dedicated than I am for only $11/hour) Now that I'm on my way out, we're implementing a new management team composed of three guys and I wish them the best. I'm now waiting tables more than anything to try to ease the transition, and they'll have my two weeks' sometime soon so I can do some traveling before I have to move to Gainesville.

PapaDukes027 - Born @ St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, raised in Beacon Falls/Naugatuck - Just a stone's throw from Cheshire! Don't get back North terribly often, usually for a couple weeks during the summer. I'll be up fairly soon, but the Solara is staying in Florida - With gas prices the way they are, it's actually cheaper to fly.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys (and girls!)

- Erik
