FWIW - I've still never seen any "real" dyno results with OEM/Injen comparison yet. My experience was that it made a lot of noise - and that's about it.

Just as well... cp-e did the measurements and we don't need a heat shield. Gen 1 did.

Also, Injen did release dyno results claiming the same power as cp-e pretty much. It was on their own dyno rather than any standard. Could have been PS for all we know. It's in a thread that's old enough that the search may pick it up. Look for posts by MichaelT and Posh. I think Michael started the thread and Posh did the proto.

So it might not fit. It might have some clearing issue on the botton end

I don't know what you mean about "real"

I think he meant "independant". But Jeff will be providing that since he has both. Right Jeff? Head to head?

RD, your heatshield is on the 2.4L. The author of this thread has a V6. Big difference in intakes.

NightRider, did you check the vacuum tubes to see if they were sealed off by weld? See my injen tutorial in the Gen2 tutorial section.

I found the two tiny tubes to be welded shut. I used a drill and opened them up.

I'm interested in learning about that CAI now. I'm not saying I'll take the first jump at it, though. Maybe later I will.

I did that SRI post just for kicks and giggles :)

K&N offers these two for the 2AZ-FE for the tC, I'm sure somebody can get creative and make it fit.

They are sealed shut. Are you suppose to drill them? I thought they are sealed for a reason? In any case did it make any difference once you drilled them?

I'm curious, which car was that SRI designed for?

I have no idea, really. I bought it from i20solara02i as well as my header, but he drives a gen1.5 one. I think it's just for the 2.4L engine in general, but I could be wrong. All I know is that it fits perfectly! :)

What springs are you running? Do you have the C/O kit, because you're riding really low! I like it a lot.

Looks pretty sweet, though! Did you PS the front bumper, too? Or is that some custom-made one or something?

Fujita makes some really good intakes.
Allot of there products have been proven to have gains better then injen and other companies out there...

But for every cay and application it can vary on your set-up. I would person get Fujita over Injen anyday.. but this is only because its for my xB and not my solara...

I had the Injen on my solara and IMO.. I didn't see any power gains.. I did feel power LOST from the low end side. But it think it was just to make my engine bay look pretty...

but thats all just my opinion..
For the solara's I would probably stick to CP-e since they come with the available tuning piggy back....

With my Injen, I noticed a slight increase in the higher RPMs, but a loss in the lowers as well. When I got my header on, however, it helped pull me out of the lower RPMs and into the higher a bit faster, so I think it only helps really when you get the new header.

Just my $.02, I could be wrong? :-?
