Thank you all for the warm welcome. Tomorrow, I go to the dealer to pick up my mats and license plates. After reading up on it on a Toyota trucks forum, I was finally able to correct the door locking situation. (You don't have to "shift into" park. Just leave it in park, and use the "engine off" chime to time the five seconds.) If the trip computer is correct, I'm averaging 28 mpg.

Well, that should be enough from me for now.

Harry,

From your description it sounds like your lock/unlock toggle is the same as other gen2's. Mine ('04) works fine but you 'must' follow the instructions to the letter. I.E. if the manual says doors have to be closed or doors open then that's a condition. If you have to insert the key X number of times and turn the ignition on/off within a certain number of seconds then you can't be outside the parameter. You oughta see the hokey pokey that's required for toggling your alarm system between active and passive!!

Just for grins check out the third item on this page: http://www.gadgetjq.com/solara/mom.htm See if there's a step you've been skipping.

Cheers
