Small Interior Mod!

Postby FLASH » Sat May 31, 2003 11:13 am

Hello All. I recently accented some of my interior pieces the same red as the exterior of my car, take a look here at:

Tell me what y'all think, good or bad!

the painting of the vents is not my style. i think it clashes with the rest of your interior IMHO.

I agree with krooked, it makes it look cheap.

From the pictures, I though the reds were all photoshopped until I saw the zoom-in pic. Doesn't look so good IMO.

Eep! Well I know I like it, so I'm gonna keep it, except maybe the A/C knobs. I used "Plasti-Kote" Touch up (spray) Paint, by the way. And yea, I can see how it clashes with the rest of my interior, but nonetheless it's different, was fun and cheap to do, and I personally like it.

Thanx for being brutally honest, I respect and appreciate it.

You have to love the Sand interior. Everything clashes with it :(. I am in the same boat for interior work, so I understand how frustrating it is to come up with stuff for this color. Looks like you did a quality job of painting, but maybe the red is too aggressive of a contrast. Perhaps you could soften its impact a bit. Also remember that you’re the only one that really can judge if it is good or bad looking. IMO Cameras generally don’t really give a true impression have how good, or bad, something looks due to there lack of aperture. Good luck with the future modifications :) .
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

If i were you, i would just paint the center dash red. The red vents look very APC....

to fix up the A/C knobs, maybe you can paint one of them white and the other one blue. (red/white/blue)

Sorry, gotta agree with everyone else. I don't know if anyone else thought of this, but to me, the dash looks like it's made out of Legos. :)
It's not my style, but if you like it, that's all that matters imo.
