04 Solara pull left TSB?

04 Solara pull left TSB?

Postby lambition » Sun Mar 25, 2007 11:05 pm

I just found out there was Pull/Drift to Left TSB out while reading some post here.

I been having that problem and went local shop to get alignment, but it was not improved at all even after 3 attempts. I even tried changing tires, which did no good.

Do anyone have this TSB, so I can take a look at and take my car to the dealer ?

I did search and found following post, but the link appears to be dead.

I've got it, and had it performed at the dealer. When I installed my TRD drop springs, the mechanic didn't do the TSB correctly the first time, so we went back in TOGETHER and walked through it, and NOW my car tracks DEAD STRAIGHT!

(If I get a chance, I'll see if I can pull it up for you later today or after work... unless someone can do it first! )

Performed correctly, IT WORKS! (I should KNOW, I spent MANY MANY THOUSANDS OF MILES being frustrated with a slight PULL to the LEFT! :-? )

I think there is possibility that my car is now out of warranty since I performed alignment at other shop.

How much do you think the dealer will charge for alignment?
Pepboys charged me $65 with 6 month warranty and merchants charges $100 with 1 year warranty.

I really feel they are overcharging. :(

If you have a GEN 2 and it is "DRIFT/PULL LEFT" condition, I am not sure the ALIGNEMENT will fix the issue. Give me a minute and I'll try to dig up some TSB files I "FOUND" somewhere... 8)

^^^^ DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU!

Not sure WHERE those TSB files came from... but SOMEHOW, they were "floating around" in cyberspace today....

NOTE: 2 pages (or so) of "VIN#" specs and such are ommitted above... if you need them, I can "find" them... 8)

Is that the page showing which VINs are affected by this issue?
I'm pretty sure mine falls under it as mine is 2004 model.
Could you please post those as well just incase.

Thanks again.

I just been to the dealer, but I was told I had to leave the car because there are so many other cars in front of me.
I didn't have ride back to home, so I just made an appoinment for next week.

Hopfully, it gets fixed.

While backing out of the dealer, I bumped into the other car behind. :-?
It was Avalon. I cracked front license plate cover, and the owner of the card asked me for $20 (It was just clear plastic cover with no frame!).
I'm sure he could have bought one for $10!!

It also left mark on my rear bumper.

MY LIFE SUCK AS ALWAYS. :drinking:

I have really bad depth perception. I better get sensors installed.

I have the same Pull Left problem with my Solara. Did the dealer fix your problem? I'm very curious to know.

I've taken it to the dealer, and mentioned that there was a TSB on it, but never actually showed the paperwork of the TSB to them. They did an alighment, they said it was "fixed" But it wasn't.

This left pull problem, and the dealer's incompetance is really irritating me.

Thanks for any info.

That is "typical" for the dealer to try the "alignment" first. I believe you will find that as one of the "sequential problem solving" steps in the TSB as well.... (I'll have to look at the flowchart again...)

If you STILL experience the issue, just call the dealership, and explain that the alignment did not correct the problem. Request that they perform the "other" solution steps that are part of the TSB. They MUST attempt these "fixes" as well... up to and including the removal of the struts and rotation of the springs in their seats, etc...

I KNOW it works, because when we put my TRD springs on, the drift left came back immediately, and we "compensated" according to the TSB and now my car tracks PERFECTLY STRAIGHT!

I lived with the drift left issue for the first couple years with my car... DON'T DO IT!!! It drove me NUTS!

Ultimately, it took FIVE trips to the dealer to get it ALMOST right... then when I DROPPED the car, I did it MYSELF with my mechanic, and now it's SPOT ON!

Good luck!
