FRP/glass is very user-friendly as far as working on it yourself (repair/paint) but it also damages much easier.

For parts that don't have contact with other surfaces (like speed bumps, potholes, curbs, etc...) then they work really well when done right. Bumpers and skirt kits are much more susceptible to damage though. ;)

You and me both brother! :o

I wouldn't mind the look, but I think I'd be replacing my fronts and sides about once a month if they're too much lower!

That's definate!!! I know I've got a gen1.5 (gen1.25 ), but I scrape the front almost everywhere I go. I always have to angle my way out of parking lots. My sides are still the BW, so I can't compare that. I don't think the fronts on the gen2 are that much different in where it'll sit. But, I'll tell you the lip kits make the look sooooo much better :P I think you all should go for urethane, go for the best IMO!

I didn't vote yet since I don't know squat about the materials yet. But if it's cheaper than the Stealership parts dept, I'd be in. I don't have many scrape opportunities in my daily driving and not getting gfx add on at purchase is my greatest regret to date. Hmmm. So with the coin I have set aside for Teins, wheels, headers and this... :o eh... Retirement is overrated.

I'd LOVE this!

Postby CH53EMechWife » Fri May 04, 2007 7:52 am

Well, I am very interested in this! Someone from cardomain directed me to this post because I expressed me interest in having this body kit on my 2006 Solara SLE Convertible.

As far as price goes, I am in it just like everyone else, the lower the better. I would be willing to get it if the price were right around $1,000 or less.

Now, I went to the dealer and they told me that getting the Sport kit was not possible for my car, since it wasn't already installed at the factory. Maybe the guy didn't know what he was talking about. But, I believed him since I wasn't EVER able to find it online anywhere.

VERY INTERESTED IN THIS!!!

I measured a front lip the other day - it comes down approx. 1" so that would definitely leave me out!

If my ride wasn't a daily driver it'd be different. But I put about 500+ miles a week on my car and I already have to worry about the suspension - let alone having to worry about a kit on top of that. I already scrape what I have now!

Guess my mind's been made up already - unless I get something custom, it prolly ain't gonna ever happen. :-?

Sorry I've been busy lately. Anyway just a quick update. I've just sent the pictures to some of the manufacturers and waiting for a quote from them. It should be anytime soon. Hopefully by the end of this week. So, I'll keep everyone informed once I hear from them. Have a good summer.
