Any Audiofiles in here will know that Orion has been around for a long time...

Its made by the same company that make PPI and other high end car audio stuf..

I was going to install these in my xB but I decided not too since I dont have the space for it...

Most of the stuff are you looking into like the name brand stuff like Sony, Fosgate, Kenwood, Pioneer are not nearly as good has Orion when it comes to speakers and amps....

Alpine may be close to what Orion is like but I still perfer Orion myself...
If you have the money I would even go with PPI, Helix, Focal, Sold School Sound Stream stuff...

I ended up using PPI and MB quarts and Elemental Designs in my xB.....
I know there is more than one Audiofile in here....

please please dont tell me you are just going to get a h/u amps and a sub.....

while a sub gives you the bump in the trunk please DONT FORGET YOUR TWEETERS AND WOOFERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!these are what produce your MUSIC!!!!

Focal/mb quarts are very nice never heard of ppi

and you shouldnt have to pay for instalation speakers are pretty easy the hardest part would be mounting them which you can always ask us for help :)

making a box on the other hand is a little tougher and its worth it to have a professional do it

Stainless:
The stock speakers are ok if you on a budget.. but true that you should replace them... I have have some Orion Component and 6x9s...

If you are interested I can throw is all in a package as well...

lilm111: I can't believe you have never heard of PPI.. Percesion Power...
Orion and PPI are the same company and they make one of the best amps I have heard or seen....

I've been a big audiofile for a long time.. but didn't get big untill the last few years and starting buying some of the high end stuff....

I would have installed all the orion stuff I have but it was just too much for my system...

nah dude... get you some RAINBOW reference components... now THOSE are top of the line ;)

Seriously though, for around 700... i'd get (1) 12" Alpine Type X (very good and tight bass, will be really good for your rock too not just rap) and a 5 or 600 watt RMS class D amplifier and a $200-$300 Alpine HU. It'll be the best bang for the buck as far as sound quality.

There's your SYSTEM for $500 of so! That's good stuff. I have BOTH Orion and PPI amps, and they have always been GREAT. The ORION gets hot enough to BAKE an EGG on... but the HIGHS off it just SCREAM and don't quit! I used to run some high-end Infinity RIBBON tweeters and Injected Molded Graphite stuff that was pretty sharp back in the day.

KICKER!!!!!!! for a sub at least! You don't need mainstream brands to having your system heard a block away! There are so many quality brands out there that are fairly unknown. Where do you plan to buy you stuff at? stereo shops aren't much help. Everyone i know that ever got a system from a shop wasn't Knocking. I don't know why they always try to sell what ever they have to get rid of.

If you dont want to waste your MONEY!!!! build your system up. Slowly start to get items you need like a good deck , some good inside speakers, and then a amp and a sub.
