hey everyone, I just recently started getting in to rap so im looking for a system to bump with, but I also want it to be able to play rock good too. I was wondering what a good combination of amp/subs/headunit is for about 500 dollers. I'm looking for 2 12' subs at least and at least a 1000 watt amp. And I have no idea what headunit is the top dog but I dont need navigation or anything like that. Mabey HD radio if its not to expensive? Any suggestions you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

BTW I have a 2001 solara SLE

your going to need a lot more money than that! 2 decent subs will run you about 500. you need to re-do your thoughts about your system

Wiring from http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaste ... ion%20Kits
Subs (RE series) You have to call for direct pricing http://www.reaudio.com/woofers.html
Amp, you can find kicker, mtx, etc on ebay for pretty cheap. Ive always got my amps from forums.
HU, check the forums too, people are always looking to change their systems

http://www.caraudio.com/forum/
http://forum.carstereos.org/

Still might need a little more, maybe $600, but it could be done for 500...

yeah my whole system cost $1,200...your gonna need some more money...look into what you really want a little more....like when i got mine i wasn't into so much rap so i only started off with one sub, but i realized it sucked so i bought another...was a good choice. but if you also want it to sound clear upgrade the speakers so you don't get much bass going through them and only through the subs

Start w/ a good HU, and work from there. You can always expand off that once you have the money.

You can get a ok system for that amount.

Orion has some good stuff. I actually have some orion stuff for sale.

PM me or call me at 626-200-6878 and I can give you some info on what you like.

Most of the stuff I have is BRAND NEW... Just a few items are open box but never used.

subs and amp for 500 is possible. but a good headunit might add a few more bucks. dont forget its about 100-200 more for installation if you're not doing it yourself. dont go too cheap. you'll notice the sound difference. i recommend infinity subs. they've been working great for me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-CDA-9856-CD- ... dZViewItem

that headunit looks good to me... and its only going to be around 120 -150 after shipping

see i think I can do this for about 600-700 ... Ive seen many good amps for around 100 as well and then I can use the rest of the money on the subs

500... TOUGH to do... NEARLY impossible to do WELL.

My recent "System Quote" (JL/ALPINE - ALL top end) was over $4500! :o

I'm going with "temporary" Memphis MC 6x9 "bi-ampable" coaxes in front and rear deck... until I get "serious" later in the year...

In the meantime, I'm using "OLD SKOOL" stuff laying around through the stock HU converted to line level... (The ALPINE IVA-205 isn't out till summer... and that's the one I want...)

Current set-up and costs:

STOCK HU - FREE! (JBL premium - '04 Solara)
MEMPHIS MC6x9's x 2pair - (A little over $200  special deal...)
WIRING - 4ga. 8ga. Power, Monster cable RCA's, Speaker, + blocks, fuses, Farad cap, etc... - $150ish
AMPS: Pioneer GM-H200 (300x1RMS), Kenwood KAC921 (100x2RMS), Orion SX-2125(125x2RMS)-OR-Infinity RSA-450 (225x2RMS) - FREE!
SUB - Infinity Reference Standard Pro-12 IMG (300x1RMS)

Anyway... with a little help from my OLD STASH and a "few" new temp. add-ons... (all install myself...)

I'm WELL BELOW your 500.... actually, UNDER $400 for an 11 speaker 800-1000 watt system! YAY for BUDGET MINDED enthusiasts!

Okay, so I "cheated" a little... the point is, to "finish" my system out with a "GOOD" Head Unit and PREMIUM stealth sub and component speakers (at least up front).... I'm looking at about $2000 over where I'm at... and THAT'S using my OLD AMPS! (They DO work GREAT, though... for "OLD SKOOL" 8) )

Best of luck with the 5-6 hundred dollar system... it's not "impossible", but VERY DIFFICULT these days...
