G35 coupe is like riding with no suspension. It's also very small for a tall guy. Add some "road roar" from the tire cupping problems and you have a super uncomfortable car. I like my Solara much better... quiet, roomy and comfortable.

So i am 5"10". 136kilos sounds lighter :-) (300lbs). I tried a maxima, mustang, G35 sedan, 350Z, lexus ES350 and Saab 9-3, Audi A4. BMW 325. The only two convertibles i liked was the 9-3 and the Solara.

I test drove each vehicle for about 30 miles, rough roads, smooth and highways. It came down to Value for the $$$, comfort and could i depend on GM to keep Saab alive to continue my warranty. In the end, I could not substantiate $180 more per month and $6K buyout at the end cause i wanted the 60th anniversary base model Saab convertible. The only items it had was a two stage heated seats and some annoying cup holds i am sure would break, lower gas mileage, 2.0 liter engine and premium gas. It did not come with bluetooth or a few other features the Solara had.

The overwelming final item, was this board and the help from everyone and the fact, although a few problems, people still loved their Solara, even the pros who rate it.

Forgot to mention, I felt like a sardine in the mustang, knew i would get tickets in the G35, could not get out of the eclipse, the Audi would be great for slimmer folk, waited 45 mins for someone and the BMW dealership to talk with me.

^^ you have similar safety in the Solara convertible to the SAAB, but still have to use Premium gas. ;) Plus it's a better-looking car IMO.
