Hi Ya'll,

Thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself.

I've owned a Solara convertible since 2001. :D

My first was a brand new 2002 SLE Red Ragtop. Man, did I love that car. The 1/1.5 Gens are definitely more nimble then their later counterparts. The subwoofers rock too

I loved the new styling of the Gen 2 so...

In 2005 I traded my 02 in on an 05 convertible. I ended up hating that car. Mostly because of these darned rear head rests but for other reasons as well. I owned it less then 2 months before I went and got my 02 back from the dealer. I lost my butt on the deal but was much happier for it.

As my Username indicates, I now own a 2007 Red SLE convertible. I love it! The holes in the head rests help my short self see much better. I love the styling better then the 04-06 versions. While not as nimble as my 02 it has more horsepower.

I'm going to browse the site and hope to meet fellow Solara lovers 8)

Welcome :D

First off, please shrink your avatar pic, it's waaay tooo big.

My wife had an '04 and she hated the headrests too. I ended up installing a rear view camera for her. I only wish I was able to wire it so I could see back when I needed too...

Interesting... so what else besides the headrests and styling do you prefer about the 07 over the 05? Just out of curiosity :)

And Welcome to SG... any modifications planned??

Welcome to SolaraGuy! You might want to resize the avatar though... It's taking up almost the entire screen!

 Sorry about the avatar. I didn't double check it's size before I posted. I never thought to install anything for the lack of visability.

 Truthfully, the car just felt...bad to me. I named her Christine  My 2002 was red and the 2005 was that Cosmic Blue with the tan top. They had no red on the lot when I went looking the first time, for the Gen2 so I ended up with a color that I just didn't like. I'm a red car person at heart. I couldn't get use to the fact that it pulled to the right. They said as some sort of safety feature :-? Funny but my 07 doesn't do it.

The 2007 has a few more bells and whistles. I like the dash layout better. I love the new styling of the front and back. (I think I'm one of the few here that prefer it over the 04-06 years from some of the posts I've read so far. :D
