Michael T's Gen 2 vinyl Eyelids version 2.

As many that requested this in this shape and size and not to mention as perfect of a color match as ever for pearl. This pearl has the metallic in it and it matches perfectly in my opinion.

Questions

Postby JMSinMaryland » Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:53 am

1. Does any light come through the vinyl?
2. Does the vinyl interfere with the light output/pattern?

Biggie - if you wanna do it right, then you'll wanna paint right on the headlights - otherwise you'll curl the vinyl by painting it and it will look like a$$ when you're done! :o

biggie - you won't be happy with the results. :(

1) Spray paint is always inferior to a real paint job - especially side-by-side like that.

2) You won't get a smooth finish even with canned clear coat.

3) Paint will most likely eat up the vinyl and turn it into cottage cheese.

4) if steps 1-3 don't happen, then it will surely flake off when it dries! ;)

I'd say - have a set of headlights professionally painted at a body shop so they'll match and look good... unless you can find an exact match vinyl that is.

Sure thing bro - I'd really hate to see you waste your time and money and be really unhappy about the results! Trust me - I've done enough painting over the last 30 years to know first hand (yeah - I've tried just about everything!) ;)

Let's hope somebody comes out with a matching vinyl soon! Lunar Mist wouldn't be a bad find either! ;)

^^Jeff is right, I wouldn't recommend anyone painting vinyl, best to search for vinyl that matches our cars^^ I just don't have enough time to get samples at this time and the demand for other colors are quite low.

how about other colors?

Postby fcivilized » Mon Mar 26, 2007 10:56 am

Will you have that version 2 in a LUNAR MIST? When I saw that eyelid I was like that's it that's what I've been looking all over the net for.
