Hello everyone,

My name is Ben, i work for a company called XERD and we have been thinking about making parts for the Toyota Solara. I wanted to post here and see what kind of response we would get as well to see if there is enough demand for these parts.

Please look at the list of products we are interested in making and please e-mail us at sales@xerd.com and let us know if you would be interested in such items.

V6 Stainless steel Headers (include y-pipe and will retail for less then $900.00)
4 Cylinder headers
V6 and 4 cylinder Exhaust systems

Last but not least if there is enough demand for a twin turbo kit we could make that happen.

To go into production on the headers we will need at least 15 people to show serious interest (will buy once available).

I know there is already a supercharger available for this car however we can gain more power out of a twin turbo kit as well as have more potential for more power.

Please check our website at www.xerd.com to learn more about us. We have made a few headers applications for V6 engines and made some great HP numbers with our products. If there is enough demand for any these products we will make them. We already have a test car to start prototyping parts on, right now we just want to make sure there is enough demand before we will put time into this project.

Thank you, Ben

I'm sure people will start buying products once the numbers have been proven (the usually occurence)

Will you be producing a prototype for dyno-ing prior to the production? That usually helps boost confidence in the product here... A few companies have come telling us that they'd make stuff... but it doesn't happen, although the demand (deposits from the minimal amount of people) is there. However, the price alone may catch people's eyes.

You should register, so that people cannot use "guest" as their name and claim that they are you. Thanks!

where are you guys located? with the amt of enthuisiasts here, you might be able to reach 15, but that is a high number of slots to fill. i live in Glendale, which is roughly 30 mins away. perhaps you may be able to show me some of your products that you have made for other cars?

Here is my best advice for you:

The headers would be your best bet and the most profitable. If your numbers can produce anywhere near the gains that JP performance did they you will definately have a ton of demand. At camryman.org they had been talking about having headers made for $500 without the ypipe and there were atleast 10 people intereasted. Dollar for dollar headers could prove to be the best upgrade for those with a SC.

As for the exhaust that is an area that might not be worth your time. I am aware of the extreme cost to develop a mandrel bent exhaust and we do allready have quite a few options. On our platform exhaust doesn't provide much power benefits unless you have a SC. You would be better off just making your headers and ypipe to fit into the stock location because most people with the SC allready have an upgraded exhaust, and they would be your main market.

The twin turbo kit would definately be a costly and probally dead end project. I don't mean to discourage that but if you talk to a few guys who have turboed their 1MZ-FE they have ran into a lot of expensive problems. The engine probally couldn't handle much more power either.

Again my personal feeling is that you will see atleast 15 orders on the headers if you can get decent power gains and meet deadlines. Remember this forum is just a small portion of all the other solara owners out there. If you truely have intent to make them post on www.teamsc3.com , www.toyotanation.com, and www.camryman.org

Please register also, it'll make getting in touch with you a lot easier
