What is it worth?

What is it worth?

I am looking for a used Solara Convertible. I just missed out on a 2006 Solara SE with 17K miles. Dealer asked $19.9. But I was 30 minutes late at the dealer. Somebody else "stole" it before I could.

Now the same dealer has another one. 2005 SLE. Color: arctic frost. Loaded with navigation system, satellite radio and some other gimmicks. Has about 18K miles on it. First registered in May 2005. Kind of late 2005 model.
Meaning there is about 1.5 years left on the warranty.
He is asking 23.900. There is probably room for negotiations. But I do not know how much yet.

I also found another one today. A black 2005 SE with 32K miles. Dealer was asking $18.9K. However I don't like black that much and the car is almost at the warranty limit. And they were not willing to negotiate. So I left.

Anyhow what would you pay for a loaded 2005 SLE including NAV with 18K miles? It has a clean tiltle on Carfax but 2 owners.
It also has some minor cosmetic blemishes.

Well it doesnt really matter what we would pay for it since we all already have solaras... LOL

Seriously though, since it blue books for 25k, just go in and try to get the best deal you can... seems like it is already priced pretty well...

Good luck

I beleive the Navi was a 3k dealer option when I was looking at my SE Sport...

Dealer just called me. Willing to sell for $22.9. I know it is low for retail but more than I wanted to spend.... Wife is going to kill me...
Need some time to think about it.

Offer him 21k and insist on the toyota extended warranty. Whatver you pay insisist on the toyota extended warranty, try and get the 6yr/100k zero deductible - Good luck, this time of year is terrible for the dealers.

Decided against it for now. More than I want to spend. I'd prefer a SE with less gimmicks and less money.
No it is not a Toyota dealer. However he only sells used Toyota and Lexus.

So no extended warranty from him. At least not the Toyota one.
However I have a cheap source for Toyota warranties. Not sure what the extended warranty for the Solara would be but I bought a warranty for our Toyota Sienna this year. Platinum, zero deductible for $850.

Thanks

Nope. I want a convertible. I just don't like sedans. Prefer station wagons or vans. And as family hauler we already have a 04 Sienna.
This convertible is for fun.

I just got my 06 SLE Conv with NAV a few weeks ago. I paid just under $23K for it, and it has just over 19K miles. There are some deals out there to be found...just have to be patient.

I actually searched for about 3 months until I found a car/deal that I pulled the trigger on. Be patient...you'll get what you want at the price you are willing to pay.

I did learn through my searching that there aren't a ton of them on the used car market right now. A handfull of them show up every few weeks...but it took me quite awhile to find one that had everything that I was looking for (SLE, traction control, etc) for under $25K (which is what I was looking to spend).

Good luck!!
