Noooo, not another Solara! How did you make it out there fine, it looks like the pole went right into you! Good to see that our cars are sacrificing themselves to save others. I hope you get well soon!

Glad you're gonna be okay.

Sure hope some witnesses got a police report going and you end up with something to help in all of this... but knowing that area of Pomona (I used to live up Ganesha years ago) chances are they weren't insured/licensed driver (let alone a legal citizen!)

So - about your car... are you sure it's totaled? I mean, it's now a convertible! A little pounding here and there, a couple new doors and some bondo...

:drinking:

^^^ Repair process... remove wheels, replace Solara.

Glad you're okay. Assuming PXL isn't right, get a good lawyer. Pain and suffering might make up the diff between the "total" figure and a new '07. My sister's settlement for a similar wreck was about $30K.

Holy SH*T!!!!!!

Dude,

I am shocked at the damage, whatever hit you must have been atleast an SUV, or a big car.

Either way I am glad you are going to be ok, it is a sad thing to see a car that was taken care of get wrecked like that.

I would say for now, relax, rest up, and recover.... talk to your insurance company about your entitlements, and see if there is a police report, there has to be one, especially if the car is in the impound. Get the info from the jackass that hit you, and sue their asses off!

As for a lucky charm..... I would pick a part that had sentimental value, and keep it as a keepsake.

Once you recover, try going to Vegas, with your luck, you should be able to hit it big!... lol

It's good to hear that you made it through this relatively okay...

my son recently totalled my '04 Gen2, so I can vouch for their safety features. I now own an '07 and love it :D

insurance was kind to me and gave me $24k which pretty much paid for the new car. Hope it works out well for you.

I just noticed they spray painted your rim. I guess that ruins putting them on your next car.

IMO they look repainted (which you can probably strip and re-paint it), but it's the severe curb rash on the left front tire that may ruin things. I say so because I know these from my car were ruined in a recent accident (but it's stock and already chipping but I'm getting some Teins/Tokicos/Enkeis once I have a job):

Thanks for all the support guys! Its good to say that everything is mostly back to normal. Back at work and school. Got a new car, 2003 solara, silver, SE V6. Screw the curse! Kinda spooky how familiar it feels. Already have my gen 1 tails on and the tint. :) Anyone here trade in their car to Santa Cruz Toyota? I ask because it has a different steering wheel and the caps on the 16 inch rims are gen 1. The wheel looks like this ( thanks krawzyazn for the pic)

According to the police the other driver was driving an 04 Camry.
