midwest meet re-do?

as i say in the cedar point meet thread, i'm just tossing some idea about the meet.

there's nothing set, but i'm thinking something like oct. 28, 29 or nov 4, 5, before it start snowing here.

since the last poll had more people interested in Indy meet, so place is at indianapolis.

I'm not that familiar with the city, so i need some input about where exactly meet, and what we do.

how do you think??

well, I'll postpone the date for now, and maybe we can have some winter meet like phreakdout said.
we all covered in salt and mud, and on stock wheels. ^^

and also here is some thought i came up while typing this..

how do you guys think about meeting in cincinnati, and visit the King's Toyota.
i think Solorange has posted, but couldn't find the link..
the guy at the dealer told me that it is the nation's largest indoor showroom for single dealership.

keep posting, and if there are more people interested in, i'll organize something..

I'm truckin' to Cleveland on the 11th so I don't think I'll be doing a trip the week before. Sorry.

oh, btw, kinda off topic..

i'm coming down to chicago this weekend, to give my parents a ride to see their friend.
(my dad just got an eye surgery and can't drive, and he doesn't trust my mom's driving... ^^, therefore i gotta give them a ride..)

probably i'll be free on saturday, if anyone would like to have mini meet that will be great.
probably be there in chicago somewhere around noon, and will leave on sunday early afternoon.

i need to talk with my parents what time i can drop them off at their friends house, and will post here exact time frame i will be free.
if nobody will be available, i will be washing my car at the hotel's parking lot...

I'll be in Indianapolis this Saturday. Too short of a notice to put together a meet i believe. But, while i am there i will try to find out what's interesting in the city and get with you guys. Also, i live 15 minutes from the Kings Toyota Dealership. That's where i got my car from. It's like any other dealership. Nothing to do there except look at vehicles and get bugged by all the salesman. It is neat but not a place for a meet in my opinion.

by the way, kings toyota, may not be the best place to meet, but they have free coffee at least ^^;

I go to the school in St. Louis, but I'm from NY. My car'll be there till the end of January when I drive it back to school. If you guys meet up after that I'd be interested, just to get out of this bubble for a bit.

Hey guys...

I'm mid-central-western I-75 corridor Ohio....

Just picked up on this thread... and I could participate somewhere in this region if the timing worked out for me...

I'm game, guys.... I'd love to bring my camera equipment out and get a series of shots of our rides.... let's keep working this "midwest" meet idea...

Actually, I even thought of something... my location breaks down as follows:

Detroit = 2-2.5 hours
Cinci = 2-2.25 hours
Toledo = 1 hour
Indy = 2.5-3 hours
Cleveland = 2.5 hours
Columbus = 1.5-1.75 hours
Ft. Wayne = 1.25-1.5 hours
Dayton = 1-1.25 hours

Anyway... there is a local joint where they have "frequent" car meets. Hot Rods, mainly, but I think we could either "piggy-back" on one of those sometime, or just set up a meet there... they ofter have live band, bar/grill, etc, etc... and pull in a pretty good (but modest, not BIG CITY) type crowd there... always in interesting mix of very old, old, more contemporary, and newer stuff... I know our local dealership pretty well... maybe they would "partially" or wholly sponsor something through their Toyota/Scion division? (Or we could just SHOW UP... and give the locals something NEW and DIFFERENT to look at?)

Anyway... not much around here, but it's right off I-75, and it's pretty central to this area for a number of members (from what I can tell....)

Another location might be Larue Dragstrip, just outside of Marion Ohio... We cold show on a "test-n-tune" Friday night sometime... even show for the runs on a Saturday?

Just throwing in some suggestions to keep the idea alive. I'm game to do something sooner, but a SPRING meet or something might be good...
