We went to the dealer and told them we were thinking about Lemon Lawing it and told them we talked to a lawyer and they basically tried throwing us off the property.

I may post the dealers name here soon if we do not hear from the Toyota Rep soon.

Telling someone you are thinking of getting a lawyer, or you are going to sue them, is basically telling them you don't have the resources to do so. Otherwise you would have just served them. It's like saying, please help me because I'm really not sure if I can sue you, but I want to try and scare you so you will just do what I want.

Getting a lawyer is a big committment, they even have tv ads about the lemon law from law offices. That makes me think they just want a bunch of cases regardless of if they are valid under the lemon law of that state. They get paid even if your like silversurfer and totally full of BS. Read up on your state's lemon law and if you're in the right to do it, go get a lawyer.

We actually have the resources to do so, now its about choosing the correct lawyer, so far we have talked to 4 of them, now we need to figure out who is the best for the costs involved.

i stay away from dealerships now. i just make buddies with local mechanics.

When you have a new car and need warranty stuff done...no other choice but dealership.

Do you really need to go as far as getting a lawyer for the lemon law?

My wife and I don't have the time or the inclination to do this ourselves. The Toyota rep has now backed out of what he verbally said he would do for us. He said he would make the equivalent of a months payment, and now he says he has to see what they can do. We are going to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait it out. If he comes up with something acceptable and NOTHING else goes wrong with this car, we will keep it, but if not, I want a new car exactly like this one.
