You tell 'em Turbo!!!
I run 16psi on a well set up Mk III Supra... (Turbo Engineering Corp. "H3" trim hybrid prop staged HKS 8+ etc... see avatar...)
This car out and out hauls. YES, I've replaced the head once, and now run a 3-piece stamped sheet steel HKS gasket & ARP chromoly studs, etc, etc... some parts have been replaced, as with anything... around mid 80k... and it was NOS blown w/2x10lb bottles thru fogger before I got it... (Okay, so it's on the 3rd turbo... but mainly by choice...)
Stuff wears, but Toyota stuff wears longer because it is very specifically and deliberately over-engineered in so many respects. I pulled 227k miles out of my first Supra (no boost...), but I beat the livin' tinkle out of that thing... REDLINE all the TIME!
Anyway... I wouldn't think twice about a TRD S/C myself... especially if you are looking for some performance. YOU gotta decide what YOU want. The rest will all fall in place.
