However, much like the Hondas, as long as you follow the maintenance schedule you'll be fine, except for there's no "maintenance" gauge or light to remind you when it is due (at least that I know of). One thing to kinda keep in mind is that Toyotas ARE touted for quality and longevity; my car runs like a champ and NEVER left me stranded for the year or more that I've had the car, while I definitely can't say the same for some other cars (2004 Nissan SenCrap  ... Thank God for the AAA and the Lemon Law). So, like most others have said, keep everything maintained and 200k miles should be a breeze for this car.

The Solara does have a maintenance light.

You're not talking about the CEL, are you? Hondas usually have an indicator or gauge that says "maintenance required", but does not indicate an error

Very nice car!
I got rid of my 94 exR 5MT with 230+kms for my Solara recently. I miss the handling but definately not that bumpy ride!!

No, there's an orange light that comes on when it's time for maintenance.

Interesting... Another new thing I learned about the Gen2, because I thought that "Maintenance" lights were only a Honda thing, like the thing where you can't lock the driver's side door with the door open (wish every car had that feature). Thank you for your knowledge .

^^^ That's a TOUGH choice! I think i might be leaning towards the Accord Coupe but of course, i'd have to drive both to give a more educated response.

I think if the Solara supercharger was a factory option, then i'd go with that over the Honda... since its not, i'd take the 6 Speed.
... and i'd eventually HAVE to put on the kit, its so sexy!

I see it. It's in the right hand corner of the guage cluster and comes on briefly when I turn on the ignition.

My Honda had a maintenance minder system that gave me a percentage of oil life expectancy and told me what was needed and when via using letters and numbers on the LCD screen. I.E. A1 = oil/filter change A2= A1 service plus tire rotation, air filter change, etc. B1 = all of A1 and A2 plus a series of inspections and B2 = a complete tune-up and mechanical rejuvination. The computer kept track of the engine rpms, load, temperature, etc. to calculate the needed service accordingly.

PXLpainter: I noticed that it looks you have the Lexus ES300/330 door handles on your convt. I would imagine that it would be a fairly easy DIY, but is it harder than it looks?

Beautiful car btw!
