A few words about suspension...LOL

I asked all of these questions myself. Many of you may recall. If you wanna stiffen up the stock ride height I would go with a Rear Sway Bar. I have tried several different suspension configurations and its not worth doing the aftermarket struts without the aftermarket springs (not that much difference with just the aftermarket struts). Start with the RSB and go from there. Putting in the struts without the springs is a waste. trust me. Ive done it....

As for using the Camry H-techs on the Solara I tired that too, here is some suggested reading:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

I went to the tein site (it looks like their columns are misaligned). if i read it correctly, it says a .9 inch drop in the front, .1 drop in the rear. I'm just interested in the rear anyway (or is it a 4 pack?).

It says it's for a 4 cyl, though. does it matter if I have a 6? is it important that you have the same springs all around? on the tein site, it doesn't look like the spring rates are the same front to back. (i'd prefer to keep my intrax in the front.)

Is yours a 4 or a 6? did you notice that the ride was much stiffer in the corners? i have tokikos also.

thanks again,

Definately get the rear sway bar.

But if you have Tokicos already you should be stiff enough. I have 'em on Eibach springs and they're pretty stiff.

I have TRD Struts/Tein Springs (still in process of perfecting them). There is a drop...but it still looks like a stock ride. Without a body kit, i'm going over speed bumps and going up and down driveways without the need to angle in. Not sure of tokico struts will lower the suspension...I don't think it will, but man...TRD/Tein combo looks friggin stock to me.

Nebody know how I can try to get the car a lil bit lower other than cutting springs. I've seen some low solaras, but not sure how they got it to that height.

RSB is easily the best suspension mod I've made. Not sure why you dont want to lower it, theres some pretty minor drops out there and the ride height of the solara is so high it hardly makes it look like a lowered car. And to answer other questions if you want to go the lowest of low.....coilovers.

Slightly, but I doubt anyone could notice the difference.

you could just add a Sway bar, the ride will be stiffer and the car will still be at stock height.

thanks for the info everyone. i think i will give the teins a try. i don't want the car lowered, because my wheels/tires don't fit. i'll hold off on the RSB, because i'm lazy. if the teins aren't stiff enough, i'll consider the RSB.

can anybody verify that the 4cyl springs and the 6 cyl springs are the same for the rear (2000 camry)?

anybody know where to get a good deal on the teins?
