18 x 7.5 looks best with 38 or 35 offset
=] you seen the pix
as keny pointed out 42 would look kinda sunken in in the rear.

Ill just post em on this

^ Thats 18x7.5 with a 38mm Offset. It sits flusher against the fender, so when you look at it from the top or rear like this angle shows, you can actually see the surface of the wheel. With a 42mm offset, u wouldnt be able to because it sits deeper into the tirewell, hence, the "sunken in" look. Ill be lowering my car soon and with the 38mm off set the look of it will make a 38mm offset wheel all worthwhile. 42mm offset is the most common, but if u want an aggressive, sit-flush-along-fender look go with 38 or 35mm offset.

Well, i think it looks best, but perhaps that just my opinion :P

so you are saying if i want to go for that sunken look then the 42" is good for me? because i do but i just want to avoid the lowrider look (wheels sticking out too much). I see the 38 offset looks flush, so a 42 may only stick out an additional 4mm right? These are the wheels I'm trying to get, do you think they'll stick out too much?

Wrong way.

Higher offset = less wheel sticking out.

Lower offset = more wheel sticking out.

And by sunken look, he meant wheels sunken into the fender wells, like our stock wheels are. Wheels with lower offset that stick out a bit more but not past the fender wells are usually considered "more aggressive".

Also, if you run 7.5" wide, it will look like your offset is about 3mm higher (more sunk) than the same offset on 8" wide since half an inch is about 6mm less, 3mm from the outside lip an 3mm from the inside lip.

I have 18x8 +35, but I dont think I have a good pic showing the offset.

EDIT: Here we go. 18x8 at +35

Only issue is if I get dropped, I will need to shave the rear fenders.

hmm i was under the impression that higher offset meant the wheels was more offset from the hub, meaning it would stick OUT more....

I have 18x8 wheels on my car with a +35 offset. I love the way they look, and it definitely gives the car a pretty aggressive look. I did have to roll my rear fenders though.

what size and offset are the wheels you have on there now?

Yea that confused the hell out of me at first too
but the lower the number the more it sticks out

i dont know why

Anyway it seems the general cosensus shows that the best offset with an 18x7.5 is either 38 or 35
I say go with 38. I was told that with 38 and a hard drop ( coilover 3" ) i wouldnt have to roll or shave fenders if i kept my back seat empty kuz it just barely sits inside my fender. Thats why i chose 38
even tho im only gettin springs for now.

Offset is how far the mounting point of the wheel is offset from the center of the wheel. A higher offset means the hub is further outside on the wheel, which in turn will cause the wheel to "sink in" more when mounted.

For instance, an offset of +35 means that the mounting point of the wheel is 35mm out from the center of the wheel. On an 8" wide, (an Inch is about 12mm, so 8" is about 100mm) the mounting point is 35mm outside of the centerline at 50mm, putting it about 85mm from the inner edge of the wheel and 15mm from the outer edge. Usually on wheels with lips, the lower the offset, the more lip you get, since it provides more space between the outer edge and the mounting point.

Nah theyll stick out alot, since u cant get all 5 lugs onto it. :D Make sure you get the 114x5, and for 7.5" wide, go +35-38 as suggested. (acutally with +35 at 7.5 wide, you have a good chance of still not needing to shave/roll if dropped.

On second look, almost looks exactly like my wheels, except my are a gloss black and these look like a matte black.

man i guess i must be too dumb cuz i just dont get it... now when you guys say it's flush, are you talking about the center of the rim? or the lip? the wheels i'm trying to get ONLY come with a 42 offset, which is why i want to get an idea of how they'd look if i get them. I've wanting a fat lip and these wheels have a 2" lip soooo.. if i'm understanding correctly, and if i get these wheels, then the lip may be sticking out a bit more, correct?
