Clutch, Hard going into first gear

Clutch, Hard going into first gear

Postby lazyboyz69 » Tue Oct 03, 2006 7:23 pm

Well sometimes when i'm at complete stop, my first gear grinds as i try to put it in gear. Most of the time its pretty hard going into 1st gear. All other gears are fine, i can go to 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc and its fine. Just first gear i'm having problems with. I just changed my slave clutch cylinder, i just changed my clutch not so long ago, i also changed my master cylinder when i changed my clutch.I bleed the clutchlines, i used Redline 75-90 transmission fluid when i changed the clutch. When the car is rolling, its easy to put in gear. I'm thinking its the master clutch cylinder, anyone got any suggestions?

are you talking about the pin that connects to the master cylinder and the clutch pedal?

Dang, this actually happend to me twice already in the past month (yesterday being the 2nd time) and funny that you mention it as I thought it was me doing something wrong, like if I was trying to rush it. Let me know if you find out what may be wrong with yours please. I'll try to contact my mechanic, the guy that installed my clutch, and see if they can give me more info, thanks man!

what pin are you talking about, my gears are grinding!... i don't wanna blow my trans..... i can softly push it in 1st, or if i pump the clutch twice at a stop it will go in smoothly, sometimes smoothly. IF it pump the clutch hard, it goes in pretty good as well...

well i just fixed the problem, theres is this thing you can adjust on the master cylinder and the clutch pedal, its actually connected on the clutch pedal, make sure the pedal is released all the way, and adjust the rod,and tighten. Mine wasn't tightened, so i lost alot of pressure. Now the grab point is much futher out.
