I think someone tried to break into my car!

I think someone tried to break into my car!

I was washing my car and saw what appears to be an attempted break in. Looks like they used a crow bar and tried to pry the window and in doing so pinched the rubber seal on the edge. Now my car came with a factory alarm system as you can see in the last pic, but does this do anything? Anybody else have this alarm and seen it in action? Do you think it detected anything and buzzed the guy off?

Looking at my car now it seems pretty easy to break in. There is about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch foam next to the window.

That doesn't look like someone was trying to break in. I think it's just the curling of the rubber. I have that on my ride. Who knows

Actually, mine has a mic or something built in, because loud Harleys will set it off... as will any noise like glass breakage or loud tapping on the hood or windows...

I think the convertibles have a slightly different factory alarm from the coupes.

Don't think someone tried to break in, I had similar curling of the rubber though can't remember which side. It eventually disappeared.

Alarms are almost pointless these days. People don't pay attention to them because of all the false alarms (you can thank overly sensitive aftermarket systems for that). If a thief wants something in your car or the car itself, they will get it whether you have an alarm that goes off or not.
Moved on to better things...

I don't think it was a break in attempt. There would be more damage than that if it was one.

I know because when my family bought the Accord the weatherstrip on the windows was curled up like that.

I think I've seen that same thing on my window seal, I'll check it out later.
