No kidding. Coming up w/ a down payment on any place that I'd care to live here in SoCal? LOL!!

When I have the Xtra $$ again, I'll consider buying some rental property locally - but sure as well wouldn't wanna live in any place here that I could actually afford to own!

After the Ch 7 - and two years later, a divorce, I'm pretty much cleaned-out every month... but this is the LAST MONTH I'm coughing up support payments at least - YEA!!!

And FWIW - the best interest rate I was getting ANYWHERE with the FICO score I was packing would have been 16% on up... nuh-uh.

I don't know if it was an act of desperation on the dealer's part (since I was not going to get an extended warranty), or because I bought my car through a credit union but I got a pretty good deal: 5 years or 60,000 miles for $300. I wasn't that worried about the engine, tranny and such, but since I have the convertible, I figured $300 is not a bad investment if the top mechanism goes bad.

The engine and transmission already have a 5yr 60k standard warranty.
