New 2007 Solara SLE Convertible

First Toyota and first convertible. Cosmic blue with VS, NV, and Z1, listed at $33,288.00 in Pittsburgh PA. Have put 600 miles on so far and love the car, only problem pass. window leak where it meets top and now same thing on drivers side, not as bad. Would have thought factory tested, before it left. I will be 60 this year and retired, traded in an Acura CL, they no longer make a 2 door I like. Have very limited computer skills, didn't even understand last few questions to sign up, so let me know if I scew up. Will put picture on when my daughter comes up from TX in Oct. Signed up because of the great help and advise you pass on to each on this site, as a newbie in two areas, I might need it.

Welcome vice! (and I'm really glad you aren't from Miami) :D

When you get a chance, post some pics - I almost got that same color at the dealership when I got mine... did you get the black or tan top?

Welcome to SG, I'm sure you'll find plenty of people willing to help around here. I'd definitely take the car back to the dealership and have them correct the seals... that's a bit rediculous that it would leak from the start...

Good luck with everything, let us know how it goes.

Take care,

-James

Welcome to SolaraGuy.org! I can't say I own a 2007 Cosmic Blue, but I acted like I did (when it was really a test drive) and loved it!

If there are any computer questions, you can drop me a private message by pressing "pm" within this post and I'll answer it for you, and a pop-up window will inform you of a new message the next time you log in. As for car questions, you may create a new post and anybody would be glad to assist you, as long as it's not redundant (e.g. "Is there such thing as blinker fluid and how do I change it?") and not discussed many times over, hence the "Search" function.

Welcome! Wow...Toyota might need to recnsider discontinuing the Solara with all these new owners! :D

Seems the convertible is becoming quite popular...I know, y'all want to be just like me. It's OK. I can deal with that

Thanks for all the posts back already. Black top on car, didn't know there was a option. Only 3 2007's in dealer stock, Pittsburgh, when I got mine, 2 gray, 1 blue. Dealer already fixed pass. side leak. Good one about FL.

Welcome from another newbie old guy with an 07 convertible!! I was trying to find the Blue, but none in So Cal with the specs I wanted. Ended up with white.

Enjoy the ride!

That's a great first Toyota and even better first ragtop. You'll be happy with your choice for many yrs to come.

Welcome! Your story is not unlike mine. I, too owned a Acura CL. When the lease was up on my Acura, I wanted a car that was about the same size and luxury as my CL. Since Acura no longer made the CL , my search took me to Toyota. I bought a SLE convertible navi. My Acura had the Nav system, and I wanted another car equiped with that feature. The convertible was the only one in stock that was so equipped. I've owned a convertible once before and enjoyed it, so I say what the heck. So far, I'm very pleased. I'm sure you will be as well. I do miss a few items my Acura had, like the HID headlights (Non-factory kits can be bought for our Solaras) and the dual power seats with auto forward, but all and all I'm a happy camper.
