Who else thinks the new Camry is Vastly underrated?

I do...

Hmm...here's the story. My dad's in town for the week and of course he has a company car, a Camry- Pretty basic- LE I4, spoiler, alloys, leather, wood trim package, thats it. So I made the excuse that I was going to go down the street to let out the neighbor's dogs, since I knew that my dad's car was last in line in the driveway (we have company over), I'd have to take his. SO I wen't out and started it up, reversed and went through the neighborhood. There is a section on my neighborhood where all the main roads come out onto a big main drag that's 100% straight. So I am coming to where my street meets the main road and I come the corner, stop the car completely, then stomp on the gas and start turning the corner. I was completely astonished at what happened next. The tail of the car slid out very nicely behind the car, the front wheels started to screech, the Revvs hit 5K or so and then it took off. This was WAY too much fun. So I pretty much did it for the past 10-15 minutes, and what's even more fun is coming from the main drag into a corner and flooring it, the back comes out a little too far and you have to oversteer to correct it and you're already going like 50MPH. SO much fun! I thought there was some sort of myth about FWD cars not being able to fishtail? I'm also sticking to my claim that the 4 cylinder in the Camry is one of the best ever built. I love how the power comes on strong at the bottom of the powerband and is solid all the way to 5K+ rpms. It's also so smooth and pleasing to revv...I love it.

LOL, sounds like you had a little fun
Just be safe, and try the v6 :D

I also don't think its that the camry is so underrated in power, its just overshadowed by its amazing reputation for relibility and quality

Yes that does make sense. Not many people really think of the Camry as the pinnacle of automotive styling (though it looks better than the bloated new 2003 Accord), but when it comes to reliability, quality, and decent power for a nice price (in LE trim, at least), you really can't beat the Camry, or any Toyota vehicle.

This is why I would defineatly look into the Camry as well as others in the Toyota family for my next car.

Possible next car: 2004 Toyota Solara (can't wait to see what it looks like!)

The Gen5 Camry wasn't targeted to 15 year olds. Granted that I don't even think you're old enough to decipher what's best built and what's not considering you don't have a drivers license yet. Drive responsibly.

Give me the car? hahahaha We had a bunch of cars sitting around at my grandma's house and zoom-zoom  I've taken the 96 Camry LE V6 in Hunter Green (a very common camry around my area...), and the 91 rx-7 :o

That's a very popular Gen 3.5 color in the SGV area. Two of our own members have that damn color and live in that area.
