Welcome. And just say the word and I'll trade head units with you. The Gen2 JBL system is much easier to run but I'm willing to make a sacrifice for our newest solara guy. 8)

welcome to SG man, pics?

But for those who love,

Hi! I'm another brand-new vert owner...'06 Red/Ivory SLE, and I'm lovin' it!!! My previous car (still have it!) is a 1990 Nissan Maxima 5-speed, so the Solara is a b-i-g change! :D

I really wanted the Arctic Pearl/Ivory, but they were impossible to get in NC the last few months...and, I know I'm weird, but I didn't like the front & rear bumper redesigns, so it HAD to be an '06 for me!

A question re: extended warranties.... I know, I know...most people don't buy them 'cuz they're a rip-off. BUT...with all the moving parts involved in just lowering & raising the roof (including the 'all window down' thing), we thought it might be a good idea - especially since we tend to keep our cars a l-o-n-g time! I've researched the Toyota Warranty dealership in the midwest, and also Warranty Direct in NY. Does anyone have any experience with either of those companies?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I think if you want an extended warranty, go with a Toyota factory. But be advised, it's a huge margin item for the dealers, and most of them don't want to deal on them. But you can buy a factory warranty from ANY Toyota dealer in the US. My local dealer quoted me 2395.00 for the 100K 7 year warranty on my Tundra. I ended up buying it from a dealer on the other end of the country for well under HALF that.

Makes no difference where you buy it, the dealer can't tell where you got it.
