"Can i say i'm the 2nd one with the '07 taillight conversion?"

lol... yeah i ordered them today for you... they should be in monday... 2morrow service & parts are closed i think... so yeah i think they should be there on mon. or tues. cause i ordered mine on thurs they got there the next day. so you should be getting a call from me on mon. or tues... i'm so juiced. that crap looks so clean and matches the car way better than the 06 tails. toyota should of not seperated the reverse lights. there is plenty of room on there to have one... they just want to make it a little harder for the swappers...

No biggie, more likely than not, I'll still be the third :)

I'm lining up a guy to do the taillight tinting (if I don't do it myself)... figured it's easier since it doesn't have the part that stick out like the Gen 2's...

Okay so now go to this site, second to the last item is what you need........

http://superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html

You need to buy 2 Load Resistors Kits of 6 OHMS 50 Watts (one for each light).... Together with shipping that is like 15 bucks.... It takes like 2 days for delivery..

*** Thanks ZoomZoom for the compliment...

Cool, order's on the way... (I like being prepared before I do anything...)

But, what's the converter for?

CamrySE-soCALlara wrote:If anyone needs help doing this dont hesitate in asking because it is no bother... ALL needed for the lights are Resistors (for blinkers to blink normal and a converter from your local walmart or target, etc.,), rewiring and NO the 3rd brakelight does NOT (I Know double negative in the sentence) get affected by the swap at all...

And one last question... the "new" reverse lights, is that LED or regular bulb (if so, which type)? I figure if it's a regular bulb, this will be a good time to also get led bulbs to stick in there...

the "new" reverse are bulbs (probably 3157's?).

also, i would not suggest the use of load resistors. Follow this thread for more info: http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=26699

Someazn, thanks for the info... where did you read that?? Links?? I got the flasher but I have also used the resistor and never had problems...

Still with me, read carefully, lol

Okay now go to walmart

You are going to pick up

The Hopkins Towing Solutions Basic 4 Wire Harness

Part Number 48915..... These are like 15 bucks each... You only need one, but I used 2 (one for each light) to make the process easier.
Image

Also there are adapters that they sell that will go into the open end, make sure you buy the one that fits in with 3 male and 1 female end on one side and it comes with 4 wires at the other....................

CKLINH, the converter is what is going to make the lights be 3 functions... brake/ parking light/ signal.....

PhreakdOut... Mr. Brian would you please stickie this for the guys on the gen 2 section... Thank you

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002Q ... n=15684181

Five bucks and change (+shipping) at amazon... now to find those adapters...

(For those that are morally or geographically opposed to Wal-Mart :) )

CKLinh, Im not sure if that will work since the 3 males need to be exposed to connect into your converter.

"Pedro", I'd prefer to start a new thread in the Gen 2 tutorials. (Since you have 10 pages of comments. It'd be hard to get right to the details. )

Feel free to start one and cut and paste from this thread.

Sound reasonable?
