Mood Lighting in Gen 2.5 SLE

Hey guys... am I the first to notice this?

There is a little blue flood light on the bottom side of the rearview mirror, that shines all the time, day and nite. It casts a soft grey/blue light onto the shifter and center stack... pretty neat.

Anyone else catch this... great attention to little detail toyota!

Cool...the accord has the same thing. Does it make it easier to see stuff at night, or pretty much a novelty?

pretty much a novelty, it adds like 15% ambien light to the cabin. But, if you cover the light with your hand, there is a very noticible difference in the cabin, as it goes completely dark, instead of the soft blue/grey ambience.

A pretty cool novelty none the less.

Its kind of like the lighting in the lexus GS... just not as many lights, just one led light in the cabin.

seems like it'd be neat. the light in the accord is orangish...blue is better.

My mini cooper had two orange mood lights.. and one orange light in each door handle... would have been pretty neat if it wasnt orange. In my opinion, orange just does not look good in a car interior...

Probably why a lot of people steer clear of some infiniti and nissan products, if you notice many of their new cars are now going back to more traditional interior colors.

Hmm I didn't notice that, but then again I only did my test drive during the day. However, there is a green light that tells me that the electrochromic dimming function is active on the Gen1 though

Thats cool- I like it better than the mood lighting in the Gen 2 SLE's- The green panel that lights up where the heated seat switches are. I imagine it is more useful when it shines down, instead of straight out into the car.

Hey Frank... I'm the one who spoke with you outside Green Acres Nursing Home in July... (to all readers: no, he was NOT a resident there!! )
Anyway.. sounds like you're lovin' your new ride! We did go to see your 'poker buddy' on Rt 37, but he didn't have any verts. We ended up buying a Red/Ivory from a dealer in Silver Springs, Maryland... and I'm lovin' it!! A new Artic Frost was impossible to get once we returned to NC (don't get me started about the @#&%#$ dealer in Lumberton, NC who sold one out from under us while we were away... )

I'll have to check this 'mood light' out tonite - sounds cool!
