It's true... they made changes to the '06 and not for the better. It goofed with the cp-e map and brought back the hesitation they worked to fix for '05 and '04. And I bitched just as much as you PXL before I had the flash. So you need to make sure that the '06 community is screaming bloody murder to Toyota and the press and anyone who will listen. That's the only way we got ours fixed. It was at least 18 months after the bitching began before they had a fix through the pipeline. If it were parallel, you'd have yours next spring... if they're working on it at all.
The intake reduces it's effect in some situations but only a new ECU firmware will fix it.

Whatever you do don't treat it like manual shifting - that will only confuse it and it will have a hard time knowing what to do if you let up on the gas before making the shift.

Instead, like D2TC says, it only limits what your highest gear is. Other than that, its just a slushbox A/T like any other car your mom might drive.

There are days I just want to put my car back to stock and forget about it all, I tell ya. Even if we can get Forced Induction with this crappy tranny and its hesitation/confusion issues, it might as well be squirrels in a friggin' cage!

Damn PXL, you really don't like your car, you have almost nothing good to say about it. Why not just sell it and move on?

where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,

^^Funny, I didn't see prodigy's post before I posted that...Oh well.

I don't have so many issues with my transmission. It hesitates once in a while, but I didn't buy a race car. I hope none of you were under the impresion that you bought one either.

I use the sport shift once in a while when someone is sitting next to me in traffic, just before getting onto I4, and I know they want to get in front of me so they can get on the highway first. I put it in 1, and off I go. Sometimes I play around with it when I'm bored driving...but all in all, I know that I'm not driving a 5 billion horsepower car.

I bought my car because it's DAMN SEXY LOOKIN'! Don't be hatin'!
