My glove box has actually been rattling a little lately, and its bothering me. It goes away when I apply pressure to the front of it. Also i would check if you have anything in thepocket on the door.

Ahh yes, the all too common glovebox rattle. That thing wasn't really built well or paid attention to during prototype testing.

Yes it's JUST a glovebox, but yes, it's latch is so weak, it will start rattling even on the smoothest roads. That's called poor quality control right there...specifically to the plant it was made at. Cambridge.

I HAVE THIS TOO! it drives me insane!
mine sounds like its coming from under the passenger seat (maybe the fore/aft adjustment). ive told my dealer over and over, and theyve 'fixed' it three times, but its still there!

it's your passenger seat sliding rails. if you pull that lever on the passenger side, you'll notice that the WHOLE seat gives and slides back; you have to hold the seat up to the front with your hand to let your passengers put the dead body in the back.

when you do that, you usually push the seat all the way back. and THAT'S what causes the rattling! it's the lever on the bottom which rattles. to remedy it, just move the seat up a notch.

You know what Krooked, I'm glad you mentioned this. I've had this rattling problem for months now and I never thought it would be the seat sliding rails. When somebody's sitting on it, the rattling stops. What you suggested works! The rattling sound is gone now. I hope it never comes back. Thanks!

yeah, guys....that sh!t was driving me BONKERS!!! NASTY, yep...just move the seat up a little if it's all the way at the back notch of the seat rail.

unfortunately, the sound will always be there; especially if you frequently store dead bodies, or young hotties in the back seat area where movement of the pass. seat is necessary.

I have a rattle too that I think is coming from the glovebox area. I tried locking it and playing with the seat rails like you guys suggested, but its still there. It becomes noticeable at 40 mph and louder as I go faster. Any other suggestions aside from bringing it to the dealer?

I had the same BSR upon reaching speed, and it would go away at low MPH.

nope not the glove box nor seats. not this time . . .

yep, stopped in a rest area, and found the stone guard loose behind the passenger front wheel and mud guard. Seems the noise cropped up through the car body and manifested itself as a seat and glove box issue.

come to find out, after thinking about it for a while, remember hitting a monster chuck hole a couple weeks earlier in a rain storm. jeeesh.

further, your wiring harness and washer hose may be loose as well and rattleing in the front passenger wheel well. yep, I had this problem too, and it was tricky fixen this one.

anyhow, my 2C worth.

I had the exact same problem with a speed sensitive rattling noise. After reading the post I checked under the front wheel hub and the debris guard was loose. I snapped it back in place and tightened it and the noise is gone.

Thanks for the help, I probably would have never thought to check there.
