Please say it isn't so! I've had mine for just about a year, and so far, so good. The worst that has happened is a rock chip in the windshield ...... Knock on wood.

My poor baby got hit about 3 weeks ago by some idiot in a 4-runner who drove off. Worst part is I was in Dallas, and I live in Kansas City :) The police report is still, and will be forever open. Now I have the luxury of replacing the grill, headlight, fog light, turn signal, fender, bumper, and hood. The damage to the hood is almost not even visible, but still requires replacement. Thats ok, though, because it gives me an excuse to put on the body kit I've been meaning to for quite some time. Unfortunately, if I attempt to claim this on my insurance my rates will skyrocket, even though it was not my fault. They threatened to drop me after my first and only claim.

Did I mention it took the Plano police department 45 minutes and 2 phone calls to 911, then finally a phone call to dispatch from an off-duty police officer to come take a report?

Tires Suck!

Postby mattacosta » Mon Mar 24, 2003 9:29 pm

I don't know if this counts as accidents but i have had my Solara for like 4 months now and i have had 2 side-wall tire punctures...i bought (2) new Bridgestone Potenza's for 110 each... Just popped one last night too, the *NEW* tire, i think i am cursed with tires. The guy who created Vulcanized Rubber doesn't want me driving such a nice car like the Solara...
