fine scratches on stock wheels

Postby dougd4885 » Mon Jul 10, 2006 8:18 pm

so today i noticed i have fine scratches on the suface of both wheels on the driver side, but none on the passenger. i have no idea where they came from. the scratches cover a good portion of the wheel, but require a close look to see. i do not hit curbs, but went through a car wash that i use regularly about 5 days ago, but i did not notice these scratches til today. if i had to guess the car wash did something to them, but the car itself on the driverside is fine.

anyone with similar experience? got any ideas on how to get them out safely?

i have a 2006 SE with about 11k on it.

I have curbed my wheels a few times and there are alloy wheel repair services out there that repaired fairly major scratches on my wheel for $35 a wheel. Looks like brand new. I'd call a body shop- they can refer you to one.

Dude, seriously if they are LIGHT scratches don't even worry about it, chances are you are going to get scratches again. I could understand if you are rockin' WORK, VOLK, JLINE, etc.

For something minor on OEM wheels trust me not worth it.
