Hey Flipside, does Rommel have sponsorship for his car? If so, I can understand the logos on his hood, otherwise it seems a little ricey to me.

To me, going to far would be doing a conversion which I will never do. Just wondering, what makes my car look "gawdy"? Flares, wing, etc? I really don't think I did anything extreme except for the flares...I just wanted to get bigger rims. I'm not being offensive because I know I can't please everyone. I do this all for myself (and maybe the chicks...) Its coo cause I would like to hear some opinion about my car. Good and bad. So keep them comming if you want. As for the stickers, I do not have any real sponsers. I only have the stickers on for the shows and take them off as soon as I get home. Just to let you all know just in case, my car is not just all show. Firm believer in show n go. Gots enough power to back everything up. Thanks.

(if HRE is just a brand of wheels, why would it be the only solara with them? or do they not make them in a size or bolt pattern that would fit?)

With HRE's they are all custom made for what you want. Custom offset and all. One thing is for sure, not a lot of people have HRE's cause of the price. lets just say that with the rims and tires...cost as much as 2 superchargers. even though I'm broke as hell now, it was worth every penny.

why? Not to hate, but am not too crazy abt those wheels.

Hey Rommel, glad to hear your car ain't a "trailer queen" ........ that's just wrong on so many different levels. I think what I don't particularily like on your car is the transition from the front spoiler to the front wheel well. There seems to be a "vent" just in front of the wheel well, which in itself is not bad, but I think the "lip" that rises up in front of that vent contradicts the original body lines of the car. It may just be that the pics just don't do your car any justice. I am sure if I saw it in real life I'd be blown away.

I don't feel that way at all man. I do not mind anyones opinion. Just as long as I'm happy with what I have and doing. As for Flipside909 (Ryan) he tends to answer like that to everyone. Ask anyone bout that. Aights man, dun trip...I gots nuthin against you at all.

It's definitely custom. No doubts. Looks very aggressive..

I tried to do something like this, but when guys told me the price :o ~ 5000$ just for a front bumper (certainly it is supposed to be unique product) I was shocked! :o  (This price includes costs for design, computer graphics and etc.) So I decided to wait for some time and ordered S/C from Eddie III  Now it's on the way to Russia :fadein:

If you're going to change out the front seats to Sparco, or whomever it is, every thought about changing out the backseats as well? Give it a more uniform look. If I had unlimited resources I'd do a SuperStreet Solara, which you're on the right track of, I just think to look truly widebody something should be done b/t the fenders to complete it and not just to look as if fenders were applied. Overall great job working with a platform that we all know is not easily worked on. Jon. :D

for SuperStreet it's better to buy a second car like Supra or GTR

There is another wide body blue solara with S15 headlight, the car wasn't look as clean as Rommel's solara. The fender flare is the best thing in my opinion. and "unlimited resource"? in reality, thats impossible.....

keep in mind that Rommel's car is V6, supercharge, and NOS. and he drive it like crazy......i think he is able to burn most of solara in the forum.

the paint

Postby Octane SOlara » Sun Mar 16, 2003 8:24 pm

Do you drive it alot...I try not to drive my car alot to keep as clean as possible.. like just out of the shop...Although My bumper chips like a mofo.. The guy I have paint my car is supose to be the best (in the city of Jax Fl) but I still get chips on the paint... I know it will happen on occasion but my parents had a brand new paintjob on a new bumper for their camry and its not all chipped up.
Ive had my bumper repainted since the original paint job on my octane and have kept it pretty much in the grage accept when i take it out later in the evenings when traffic is down.
Its just anyoing that I cant keep it looking perfect.
any suggestiions? other than putting my original bumper back on and buying the trd pieces (for all you octane haters out there

I drive my car everyday. I don't get any rock chips cuz I have the clear bra on my car. It covers my front, sides, wheel wells, and hood.
