How hard is it to find a V-6 5 speed?

How hard is it to find a V-6 5 speed?

Postby SuperCharged » Tue Mar 11, 2003 4:09 pm

Hey everyone. I'm 15 and will be gettng my first car in 5 months or so and am wondering how easy or hard it's going to be to find a V-6 with a 5 speed. What's the best way to find out? Autotrader.com? If I can't have a 5 speed I'd rather have a Black '99 Avalon and tint it and put it on 17s.

thanks

They are rare because not that many were produced, but you can still find them. Expect to pay a little premium for them.

Check autotrader, ebay, and even the newspaper

When I was at the dealership when I bought my car, I checked out a V6 Solara Manual and the guy there told me that it was already taken and they have more if I want one.

Hi Michael,

SE V6 5 speeds are not that easy to find. Especially 5spd SE V6 with leather and moonroof like mine. You will probably have more luck with the Avalon than you would with the manual Solara. Just keep searching though, they're out there.

Michael,

I have a black 2001 V6 5 speed that I'm considering selling. It's only got 26,000 miles. However, it does have a lot of mods that I'd prefer not to remove in order to sell. These include a supercharger, upgraded springs and struts, exhaust and intake, limited slip differential, and upgraded clutch and flywheel. You might not want to buy all this stuff now, but if you're interested, let me know.

traitors! haha, jk.

Michael, you're pretty damn lucky to be getting a car at 15! damn, i wish i had mine right when i got my liscense. anyway, finding the car you want takes a lot of patience and dedication. you gotta find every damn recycler/newspaper ad you can and just keep circling and calling. thats how i got mine. it also takes a lot of luck. and it also depends on how populated it is around where u live...obviously, you'll have better chances in ca or ny. it took me 3 months to find my baby, and the deal wasnt even that good, but i just had to get it cuz it was black/black and v6 5spd, just what i wanted.

good luck, and dont give up

At this point, I'm not actively looking to sell it. If the right situation came up, though, and I could sell it as is, I would probably do it. I'm still very happy with my car, but for business and family purposes, it just might not be the right car for me at this time.
