lots of pics.

Yep, lots of pics for sure. Those extra rear lights on the bumper don't look too hot on a red car IMO. Almost looks like eyes looking at you.

Anyone notice "cassette" is gone? Also, not sure what's different, but climate control reads "COLD"...mine reads temp...kinda odd! Gagges look decent, but actually what they did was cost reduce by removing the rings on our dials. Still think body changes were wrong way to go!

Premium does help mileage since when you don't run premium, the engine retards itself, which means less burn time and less efficient burning, less power, etc. In our case, it is about a 5% loss in power, or more.

Anywho, as I have said before, the difference in the cost of premium over regular only amounts to about an extra $150 per year doing 25K per year, so not an issue.

Nice tag. At least it has an AUX input built in now. But your HVAC would say "COLD" if you brought the temp down to minimum. COLD is just below 65 I think.

Thanks...didn't know that about the HVAC...guess if I go below 65, then it really is COLD.............

You guys don't have convertbles - when it's 80+ outside and the sun's frying your scalp - you want a little cold air in your face! :)

Toyota Press Release 2007

Postby RedGen1Guy » Fri Jul 07, 2006 4:50 pm

Saw the 2007 convertable at the dealer yesterday. Looks pretty amazing to me. As a gen 1 owner I honestly never fell for the gen 2 changes. However, the new grill makes the 2007 a bit more agressive, the flatening of the bulbous rear lights add to the newer more muscular and masculine look. But that's just how it appeals to me and I can see how folks who love the 2 may not like the changes. I don't like the rear tail lights being moved to the bumper and agree they could have spent more to boost performance. But, it is expensive to change the metal parts and the price increase is minor for the added standard features. I think they have done an excellent job with these refinements. Morever, the bluetooth and mp3 options bring it in line with other entry level luxury models such as the TL. I am just waiting for the hard tops to come in to New Jersey. Anybody know when that will be?

hardtops are all over new jersey. Most dealerships have 4 -7 hardtops on the lot, and a convertible or two. The Ones loaded wih NAV are hard to find so far.

Thanks. My local dealer only has one rag top and said he didn't know when they would be in. Strange... I will start calling other dealers to see what their stock is. Am definitely looking for the Nav.

is one of the dealerships were you can search their actual inventory... not sure if u can see which ones are convertibles, and which are not.

MAny dealerships let u search their inventory online... should save you some time and phone calls. :-)

Hey guys, FYI; I did a side-by-side comparison between the Gen 2 and 2.5 today at my local dealership (I literally parked right next to one). I'm glad to say that Both the headlights and tail lights look like an EXACT fit... so all that is necessary are wiring changes (at least for HIDs, not sure for tails) and reverse lights...
