Passenger Seat Back Angle

Passenger Seat Back Angle

Postby GaryPSU » Tue Jun 13, 2006 5:17 pm

I have an '06 SLE convertible. After the passenger seat back is folded to allow access to the rear seat, the seat bottom returns to the previous position, but the seat back is more upright than before and must be manually re-adjusted. Is this normal, or a defect?

No worries, that is normal. Neither the seat back or the seat itself will actually 'intentionally' return to it's previous position, this is more of a coincidence that you keep your seat in the farthest back position (or happen to put the seat back up at the same location).

Putting the back of the seat up is actually what triggers the seat to lock in it's tracks. Next time you use the passenger release (when the seat is all the way forward with its back down) put the seat back in upright position, then push the seat back. It should lock on the first available notch in the track.

Hope I've helped!

The seat back is going to lock in the first position available, you have to manually put it where you want it.

The driver's side doesn't do this because it's power, so it goes back where you had it.

As far as I know, there is no way to change this.

Yeah, or like the German cars that have a swivel that kinda lifts it out of the way, but then again I rarely use the back seats. Hell, that reminds me, my rubbers are about to expire (j/k).
