Solara Bra?

Solara Bra?

Postby Jack Soulfire » Sat Jun 03, 2006 5:02 pm

I've been doing a lot of travelling for work and the front end of my car is getting major paint nicks that I'd love to aviod as much as possible. Has anyone seen or found a nice bra for a Gen 2 (2006) SE Sport? I googled and couldn't find any pictures.

Anyone have one or had luck finding one?

Thanks in advance.

leather bras will sometimes scratch and fade your paint. youll most likely spend more $ but id check out a clear bra. heres a link to a couple places online that sell them. http://www.invisiblemask.com/cgi-bin/pr ... model=1716
http://www.stickercity.com/store/home.php?cat=999 <-- this is for the 04-05 solara, which should also fit the 06.

hope this helps!

Has anyone ever tried these? Are they as good as they claim to be?

Can they be removed (easily), and do they affect the value of the car?

if anything i think it would up the value of your car. supposed to be very strong. ive seen a vid where the person had a nice size scuff on his bumper, all he did was peel the clear bra off and the scuff went with it. the paint was just fine, no marks etc... from what those sites say you can put this on your self (i'd have a pro do it). removal doesnt look too tough either.

Look at my cardomain... I have a clear bra... last couple of pages should have the clear bra... (you can hardly tell)...

I was told my color was one of the best ones for the bra... you had to be looking for it to see the edge...

hm, I have an 04 that already has close to 10 chips in the hood though they are not major, how wise do you think it would be to put on a clear bra at this point in time?

those bras are hideous and ruin the look of your car. I guess if i was doing alot of traveling for work like you, i'de want a resort also to quit the paint nicks. All I get is dead bugs stuck to the front lol..

^^ What are you talking about. You can't really see the clear bras? Were you reffering to the black leather ones?

I also have a clear bra. It is awsome, expensive though. I got my installed by them too. I couldn't have done it myself. I have all types of little bumps on my foglights that show where rocks have hit it. I would have broken both by now if weren't for the clear bra on them.

Note: I have the clear bra on the hood, front side of the car, front of the side view mirrors, headlights, and foglights. $500 installed @ Sticker City(from the website above).

I have a leather bra, or whatever you call it for my gen1. It really protects my front facia. when i bought my gen1 the clear bra's were in the 700 range for part+install. Now its a whole lot cheaper, i'd go with a clear bra....
however the below mentioned is a very common/wrong notion people have about leather bra's...

SolaraBlue wrote:leather bras will sometimes scratch and fade your paint.

I've had OEM leather bra's on my old 90' celica.
I currently have oem bra's on my es, camry and my solara (its not like we use them 24/7). As long as your keep your underside clean and claybar it once a year, your hood will not have scratches from using the bra. I used the bra continiuosly on my celica for 2+ years w/o scratches, our ES has become a commuter car as well..so thats one lately has had its bra for over 2+ years as well (thankfully w.o bra damage). Yes they look hideous, but then again, our 175+ mile es looks like it was a 2004 model!
