Jaime :( :( So sorry to see the pictures. What happened? Another Solara added to the list. I'm assuming you got rear ended, so the other person's insurance should pay for it. Good luck man

The dude had no insurance. Called my insurance up and they will take care of everything starting tommorow. I have full coverage and a good insurance policy, my deductable is only $250 which the dude should pay for rear ending me while I was stopped at a light. This guy was in a Black Acura Legend which didn't re-start due to the massive damage. Boy is the Solara a strong car, I thought it was going to be much worse. :o

Looks like just a new bumper replacement, tails, body sheet metal is all ok, I also think they should replace my muffler because that got messed up a bit.

Boy....that's my life, maybe I should stay home all the time!

Na, it could work out better then you think. Find out a body shop that likes you and get an aftermarket exhaust. As long as you are alright, thats all that matters. Did your airbags deploy?

No air bags, all else is o.k! I really got slammed hard. My car was pusht least 10 feet, luck I didn't hit anyone in front of me.

His 97 Legend had all these fluids pouring out, hood popped up, totally smashed in, and he couldn't restart.

I'm not sure, but if the other guys car got that destroyed that he couldn't drive away, I though it was a pretty rough crash. I'm not sure what conditions need to be present for the airbags to deploy.

well youd probably have to hit something head on (unless you have the curtain airbags, in which case a side impact would do it)

the airbags wouldnt help when you get hit from behind, youre being forced back into your seat

Wow, that does suck, I must admit. Did anything happen to the guy that hit you because he had no insurance? Hopefully he got a fine or something. And if he doesn't pay your deductible, definitely sue him in small claims court if you have the time.

A similar thing happened to me about 1 1/2 years ago when I had my Integra. Someone rear ended me on the 91 freeway, and then took off. I tried to follow him, but he drove off all crazy to an offramp and then on city streets, and I lost him. Luckily, my bumper wasn't too damaged, and I was able to buff out the black marks and use touch up paint to get the bumper to look ok. He hit me pretty hard too. I was really surprised to see how little damage there was when I finally got out of my car. Its amazing how well some cars can hold up in a rear end accident thats not too serious.

I'm just letting my insurance take care of everything. They are already scheduling me for repairs, should be done in about 4-5 days. This dude looks legit, and looks like he gonna pay my deductable, eventhough he has no insurance.

Is insurance required in CA? In NJ its against the law to not have insurance.

Yes, very required! That dude that hit me is in big trouble if he has no insurance, because you can't register your car without it!
