i've got gen 2 '04. stock cd player does not play any mp3 cds. can i "upgrade" factory cd player to play mp3s ?

getting tired brning and wasting cds, plus no room for more cds in the car.

I don't think you can use our factory cd player and play mp3..
just get a after market cd/mp3 player.
i got mine for $200, it totally change the quality of the sound in your car.
I got eclipse, but i have no regret that i changed the unit.

another choice, is to use aux2car, ipod2car, etc and connect mp3 player to your stock head unit.
i had ipod2car with stock unit (and i still use it with after market as well), and it works really well.
and now you don't have to worry about carrying your cd or burning cds at all!!

I went and got the USA Spec iPod adapter. Hooks up to the factory radio and don't have to worry about any discs again.
