Dropped Old Solara For New Solara

Postby red2002solara » Sun Apr 23, 2006 9:26 pm

Well, I had a birthday this past week. I was feeling pretty down about marching another year into the 30s. I decided to treat myself to something nice, a new car. I traded in my 2002 Solara SE for a 2006 Solara SLE V6. Same red color, but way more options. I got every single option on the car except for navigation.

I am so happy I did this. My old Solara was nice, but I bought it used and it didn't have all the options I wanted. Plus I suspected it was in some sort of accident, even though Carfax came out clean on it.

It was funny because I was quoted the same price for the new Solara by almost all the delaerships here in Phoenix. So I had to go by sales tax and the miselaneous fees the dealerships try to stcik you with. I was at the dealership for three hours yesterday, even went as far as heading to my car to leave. But I got the deal I was happy with.

I never been through finance so quickly. The finance guy picked up real quick that I wasn't going to buy anything from him (he started about the extended warranty, and I replied that defeats the purpose of owning a Toyota). I think I was in his office about five minutes.

I just hope the 07 restyle isn't too drastically different. But even if it is, I am quite happy with my purchase. This is the first car I've owned with a V6. Now I wonder how many bodies I can put in that truck? :evilbat:

Modifications

Postby red2002solara » Mon Apr 24, 2006 4:41 am

The modifications on my new baby will pretty much be cosmetic at best. A front leather bra, a moonroof visor, and an aftermarket navigation system is all I'm looking to equip the car with at this point.

If any of you have ideas what else I can do, let me know. I won't lower the car, I like the height the way it is.

Front Bra

Postby red2002solara » Mon Apr 24, 2006 2:58 pm

I was thinking about maybe going with the clear bra. My friend has one on his G35. Are the clear bras more expensive than the leather ones?

yeah the clear bra is most likely more $$ however it wont dull your paint or scratch your bumper/hood. also it can protect againts minor fender benders.
