My dealers are charging low to mid 300's for that service so you have a deal comparatively.

I took my car to the dealership for my 30K and they were going to do it for right around $300... but I went over what it covered with the service manager, and most of the fees were services such as simply LOOKING at the brakes and belts... I had them change all the fluids and the cabin air filter, paying a total less than $120 with the service considered done...

I don't believe it will void the warranty if you don't get the full "30K mile service"... There's really not much to it.

I don't have spark plugs, but they changed my oil, tranny fluid, radiator fluid, and cabin air filter... They usually change the air filter as well, but at that time I had a TRD air filter (or I may have had my CP-E intake by then) so they knew not to touch it. They also rotated my tires.

The next one (60K miles) I will prolly go ahead and do all the recommended stuff (have them "check" and lube everything) just cuz by that mileage the car will be well used. 30K on a Toyota's nothing, unless the car is full out abused.

PLEASE DONT PAY DEALERS TO CHANGE AIRFILTERS.

i can understand the engine airfilter (unless you have a TDR/K&N) if you are a girl and dont want to get your hands dirty, but ANYONE can change the cabin airfilter. Its behind the glove box and you can change it in about 2 minutes. Check your owners manual for instructions. You can get a filter at napa for about 12 bucks if i remember right.

Mike, they did the cabin airfilter service for me for free + like $17 for the air filter itself (which is prolly a tad over priced, but what's $5 in the big scheme of things? A cup of coffee?)... I usually do that crap myself, but I couldn't beat them saying "we'll just take care of that for you". I think it's usually a $65 service... now THAT is flat out BS!!!

Sounds like just change oil, tranny fluid, and radiator fluid.

You can change the engine and cabin filter yourself or you can pay the dealer 10x what its worth to do it.

Just had my 30k service done at a regular repair shop. Those guys are authorized to do that type of service and it doenst void the warranty as well.

Had the tranny flushed with BG Products as well as the MOA (Oil Change) BG Products. If you're not aware of the BG Products they warrant your car up to 150k with their products. I would highly suggest getting the tranny done at 30k as it starts to collect sludge and with the BG flush, they clean that sucker out good.

My 04' seems to run alot smoother now that I had it done. Had the 02' Explorer done as well and you notice a difference in the way the vehicle runs. Like I said, the Solara seems to run so much smoother now, no friction.

And that cabin filter........ I wish i had known about changing it myself, they got me for the $65 the last time I had it in. But you should have seen that filter when they pulled it out..... Yuck..

Yeah, when i first changed mine it had sticks and dead leaves in it.

I can't beleive they are allowed to charge 65 bucks for that! How in the world can they justify that price when the filter costs like 10 bucks and the time it takes to change it is about 2 minutes???
