Finally getting fuel

Finally getting fuel

Postby Wang2k » Tue Apr 18, 2006 6:51 pm

By the time i get my car back from the paint shop ill have the following on the workbench ready to go:

Split Second PSC1-001(seems to be the best way to go...any thoughts)
The PLX M-250 Wideband with digital display
URD Modified 318cc Bosch Fuel Injector 6-pack
Carputer
190lph fuel pump

With these mods i plan on running a 10lb pulley until the intercooler cat is out of the bag.

Does this sound right or should i get the 255???(i plan on about 15 or so lbs after the intercooler)

Also I will probably have a high boost and low boost fuel map saved because i drive my car every day and sometimes a cross state jaunt and will probably get used to swapping from a 15 to a 6 lb pulley. i need to make a system that works like the Ford CVT transmission, lol! It has a variable diameter pulley!(two of them i think)that would be the shizzz

ANYWAY!!!!!

Im gonna have a complete fuel system revamp when i get my car back(a month or so)yay

umm... 10 lbs on a stock internals = BOOM!

I'd step back and rethink this... Especially if it is a daily driver
Parting out my car!!! great upgrades for sale!

From everyone's experience I have ever read with the Solara/Camry platform, if you do that set up, your engine will blow.

lol step back and look at my cardomain page for my mods, i have a spare 1mz that im building slowly right now...im deep off in this crap and am ready for whatever happens, if my eagle forged rods break at 10psi, i will not be a happy camper...also, if i break a JE piston, that will also be whack, as rizal is pushing 23psi on the same setup(i think he might have arias pistons) your motor might go kaboom at 10psi...but mine shouldnt, thanks for looking out for me though, i know if i had stock internals i would still be trying to push 10 lbs through it, just to see how many lands i can break.

Just ensure you go with all forged internals. Also there are some custom lifters and exhaust cams out there to help you along. Then there is the intercooler, what can I say. If the expected 140 degree intake air temp drop is realized, at 12 psi of boost the power gain will be considerable.

I still don't think it will be an easy road getting it all tuned in at that level of boost. Even with the internals, still a risk to shoot for those high levels of boost. Also, I have read that the S/C cannot spin efficiently much faster than 9 - 10 psi.

Good luck!

Is the Split Second PSC1-001 a ECU piggyback, or does it replace the ECU, or what? I thought a big problem with radical mods to the Solara was that theyre weren't any tuner ECUs out there.

Or am I lost?

Edit: Is this unit similar to the TEC 3R Total engine management system that Paladin is using?

i emailed gadget asking him if he sold the unit included with the fuel system upgrade separately, im going to go with that(dont know what its called) as for the psc1, it seems to be a MAF signal modifier and a EGO modifier

Im gonna get the one that comes with the kit (they call it a performance calibration unit) because i know it works, also i asked him if he could send me the base map he sends with the kit. Im waiting on a reply

i think the Split Second FTC1-E Fuel Timing Calibrator Plus EGO is the one im going to need. Based on the description, it does everything, adjusts fuel by intercepting the MAF signal, controls timing by modifying crank and camshaft sensors, and it scrambles the o2 sensor so that the ECU will stop trimming fuel completely, making it do whatever i set it to...sounds good, but it says its for the 3.4 liter trucks...itll work with our app too tho right??? anyone know?

After building the 1mz in my car now(which came out of an es300) i had two extra eagle rods left, so i was like what the hell ill build the motor that came in my car just in case. its gonna take me a while(side project) i only had to buy one set of rods this time though, i found them for 350ish too! Im doing 8.5 compression, .010 overbore, and toyota bearings. I also have a new oil pump. Im not really gonna push my car until im done with that new short block, also i want to send my spare set of heads to someone like stoid or arrietta and get them ported the right way, the heads im running now are ported, but the monkeys at the machine shop here just barely did enough to call it porting because they didnt really know what they were doing and i didnt want them hurting my performance. Stoid Exhaust cams will be in there, and all that.
