My First Car: 2000 Toyota Solara

be happy you didn't get the mustang.

The interior materials are horrible. The repairs are expensive (which you wouldn't think for a domestic). The fit and finish is 5th rate. oh and an 03 mustang is basically a 13 year old design.

Your Solara will suit you much better... and it won't look as dated as time passes. Plus, you won't have to change your oil as much (which I hate doing haha).

Welcome to the site.

Be happy with your purchase as your car is listed as a Camry and your insurance won't be through the roof if you had the Mustang.

Enjoy.

with the mileage i would concern that the maintance is not up to date. check if the timing belt and water pump has been replaced. Usually mechanics would left a sticker note on the timing belt cover to record the mileage and date of the job done.

check if you have red coolant as well, the red coolant is toyota coolant and it is necssary for your water pump (if the mechanic used geniune toyota part

On top of that, if it was a V6 stang he was looking at, I doubt it's faster than the V6 Solara, even the auto, and definitely not manual.

I've been doing freelance webdesign since I was 16, so I tend to try and keep my language as professional as possible in fear of being rejected by clients.

I read at a couple of places that its considered an "old person's car" which was one of my first thoughts as my mom has always been commenting on Solaras when she sees them as we drive.

One of my friends did think it was a brand new car when I showed it to him in day light. It looks a lot better than it did at the dealers, especially when the sun hits it.

I really like the luxury look of it, and im really enjoying it when im riding to class or on errands. Great handling and its soo quiet.

hmm, I was thinking of adding some more woodgrain on the inside. Possibly doing one of those emergency break woodgrain kits? Then maybe at the end of the year putting in another stereo system since im not really in a rush for it.

Ill get those things checked out. I got it from a Toyota Dealer (Jim Hudson) as a Pre-Owned vehicle. Had the one owner who traded it in for a new model a few weeks ago.

youll love the car, the reliability is off the charts, i have 108,xxx miles now and its awesome sounds great every time i fire it up. Once you mod the car a little your going to love it more and more. Even if my car is dirty i walk up to it thinking damn i drive this thing. you will too, im sure.

Its white with roughly 91k miles.

Its in excellent condition, and I got it from a certified Toyota Dealer. I probably got screwed on the price. $9,100 including Tax/Title/Registration. I was hoping for some kind of BIG price break since I was planning on paying cash, but apparently not. :( They had it listed at $10,400 in the paper for some close out special.

thats not a bad price for a dealer..

i got my DWP(diamond white pearl) at 82K from a private seller for $8150

delaers dont like cash cuz they lose out on the interest they otherwise wud have gotten from you..get it?
