What is the issue? I have a SAFC2 but not installed yet since I want to know is something wrong. Dont want to have to retune.

Dat, you probably have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check your vacuum hoses. Or, you may be not be getting enough fuel. Hook up the safc and bring it to a dyno!

I hope Im not getting a leak. I hear a clicking sound when ever I step on the gas to accelerate around the throttle valve area.

Race

Best to take it to the track and run it for an evening first, then go dyno tune it. Who cares about CEL's right? They're just created by the manufacturer to keep you coming back to the dealer. Your car sounds like it's finally running right. .

It might be your intake cause that was happening to Simon and it won't stop coming back on even when his car was tuned

If I ever see you Im going to steal your Solara, sell it and buy you the whole hooked on phonics series. Your car 'tuning' skills are as bad as your english. Jon. p.s. if I ever saw you I'd drive your own car up your ass....that's if I could get it to run.

Guys, there may be a problem that you all havnt researched much on these boards....

A couple guys on the mr2oc.com boards have swapped their cars with 1mz v6 engines... Myself included.
anyhoo...

Mitch and Mike had both purchased OBDII readers to monitor their fuel trims. Mike solved the issue by adding fuel pressure. he's up to about 70psi fixed to solve the issue of the ECU adding fuel due to the engine running lean. His car is s/c'd.
Mitch's car is N/a, and he discovered the whole issue is that the diameter of the intake pipe is too large where the MAF is positioned. The MAF can't properly read the amount of air going past it and into the engine. So, the car is getting more air than it thinks, running lean for the amunt of fuel its dumping in.,

I'm guessing your exhaust is restrictive as well... not saying that makes you run lean, just a helpful hint while searching to make your car run better

No it doesn't.

Dat, get your SAFC hooked up and get it to a dyno. You don't want to have your car running lean.

Amazing. It looks like you've done everything necessary to at least run safe boost at 4psi. I don't know what to say.

Should we go back to the stock intake and get rid of the Injen CAI? Otherwise, it seems that you have to dyno tune regardless of what boost you run.

That's disheartening. What I will say is that I'm not planning to invest anymore in this car. I think I've spent enough. If something goes wrong, then I'll have to go back to stock.

well the issue is that the fuel systems probably have times where it dips lean running 4 psi... this car has issues w\ fuel and how the heads get the exhaust out of the car... This car probably should have had a larger fuel setup for the supercharger included in the kit from TRD... I am running supra injectors, lower compression heads, headers, high flow y-pipe to a 3 inch exhaust back, as well as a MSD ignition, safc-II and various other modifications... and I am running 4 psi just fine w\ no issues... I think this car has a major issue running boost.. and a lot needs to be done to compensate for it

yeah I have done a lot and is overkill for 4 psi.. but im running it safely all day long w\o issues
