the engine wont start and i checked all the fuses and its good. also the car is only 2yrs old but it could b a battery problem. there is no cranking sound when i turn the key and radio doesnt work when it is in the on position. however i did check the fuse in it and it appears to b fine.

This thread makes me think about my car's battery condition.

my car is almost two years old, should I change the battery (it is the battery that came with the car)?

one question, what tools do I use to check car batteries?

My battery was shot after 8 months... The indicator still showed "green", but when I took it into Advance Autoparts to have it pressure tested it smelled like rotten eggs. I do have a rather high draw stereo system, but it can still happen either way...

If this happened "all of a sudden" then it sounds like the ground to the battery.

Was the battery loose in the tray?

If you have a transponder key, then try using your "valet" key to see if it will start. The transponder could be bad in your key, and the car wont start if its bad. Its a safety feature so that if someone tries to jack your car... they cant

The systems would power up without the transponder I think. Just no cranking.

(And yes, silversurfer220 dissappeared once dude pointed out his reality to the masses. Otherwise he surely would have posted here. 8) )
