New Wax Job (Death to 56k!)

Postby Duffman » Sun Mar 26, 2006 2:17 pm

I bought some Turtle Wax Ice about a month ago, just before some chick forgot to hit her parking brake in the parking lot and rolled into the back of my car (pictures linked below if anyone wants to see...), but had to wait a while after the repaint (only partial repaint, they fixed the back left quarter panel and replaced my pinstripes yay!) to get good washing and waxing on it. I still haven't been able to wax the back part that got repainted, need to wait until early April to do that... but yeah, I figured I'd get some pics. Here's the pics of the hit...

Never heard anyone be jealous of cloth seats; I've been considering swapping out for leather for a while now. I host them on my friend's website - she uses it for her web design business and has enough extra space for me to play with.

Good luck; took me two years to find the one I wanted. And even then, I had to settle for the green - I originally wanted metallic blue or black.

Yeah I dont like the coldness of them in the winter and the stickyness in the summer. Plus I dont like conditioning them to keep them from cracking in the future. Plus I think cloth is more comfy. If someone ever offered to trade ivory cloth for my leather i may consider it. Only if their seats are in perfect shape and maybe for a small extra price since im devalueing my car.

I have leather seats for the first time ever. I didn't think I would like them, for the same reasons you mention (and I live in Florida). I was really surprised, they don't get sticky in the heat, and when it's chilly out, I just turn the seat heater on. I was really surprised.

MCOJerry - I'm from Florida, about 80 mi. west of Orlando, but stationed at Lackland AFB here in TX.

And yes, leather *does* take a lot of work to maintain properly.
