Don't worry about miles too much man, I am at 130k alreadyfrom driving down to SD and up to the bay so many times. One of my good friends is a student at cal poly, I'll ask him if he wants to show us around the area. If not I'm gonna try and scout out the place one of these weekends. On thing I know of that is cool is in SB tho, but hwy 134 does a pretty neat loop that takes about half an hour to go through, goes up into the hills, can see lake cachuma and nice views of santa barbara and the ocean as well. Speaking of Hearst castle, I've been there and its pretty cool to see, the indoor pools with gold etchings on the bottom and the outdoor one with the huge donkey marble pillars are something to see, as is the actual "castle". Oh and I just remembered hwy 1 is a lot of fun around that area, took it on the way home from hearst castle in a mini van and it took for-e-ver, but would probably be more fun in a car. Plus the views are great.
my baby was born in feb 02 and she is about to hit 100K this week and I do my Nor cal trips every 3-4 weeks lol also
